"Come downstairs now for breakfast otherwise you'll be late for school!"screamed Betty's mother.
"Ok mum just making my bed, I'll be there in a jiffy,"reluctantly replied the girl.
Although she said she was making her bed, she was lying, she was looking at a note she had received the day before. This note was slipped into her bag when she was making her way home, and it was a threat to her and her family. Betty quickly realised that her mum was probably getting infuriated with her, as she was not born yesterday and knew it didn't take that long to make a bed.

Betty rushed to the bottom of the stairs and as quick as a flash she was at school having...lunch? She was sat next to her friends but she never really liked doing the same kind of things as them. Though, there was this one special girl to Betty, who had just joined last week, called Emma. Consequently, this girl was coming round to her house today.

Betty new what to play with her, some games that were very special in her heart. She was going to make this a nice time. That note was something Betty had to ignore, but if she did she would live to regret it. She had to listen to this or she and her family would be in grave danger.

As the day progressed, soon enough Betty and Emma were walking home together longing to reach Betty's house. The orange light from the sky was beating down on them; like they were ice creams melting slowly but surely. Then finally they were home. Betty's mum offered snacks and refreshments, that pleased the girls so much withstanding the heat, and then returned to the kitchen.

"I'm going out for a while to a big store to grab some equipment for my courses in work, have fun girls!"happily said Betty's mum.
The girls then replied in unison with a brief "fine" and "bye" to see her off.

Now being at the age of fourteen, they were very capable of taking care of themselves. They were just on their phones being slightly anti social, until Betty had a rather good idea that they should play some games. Emma quickly suggested whether they should play 'hide and seek'. Of course they can still play it at their age, could they.

Betty decided to seek first after a best of three in 'rock, paper, scissors' after a dreadful '2-0' defeat. Betty counted to thirty and then looked around to try and find Emma. She ended up finding her in the last room in the house that she hadn't been to: the bathroom. Funnily enough, Emma was sitting down in an awkward position that made Betty laugh.

Then after a quick sip of water the girls resumed the game. This time it was Emma's turn to seek Betty. After a really rapid count to thirty, Emma was searching around the house; as if it was a murder investigation and she needed to find clues. This was almost starting to annoy Emma in a way, as it was impossible to find Betty.

Whilst Emma was searching literally everywhere for her friend inside, Betty was giggling as she was hiding in a bush in the front garden. Suddenly a large white van parked right outside her house. Betty turned around and a broad figure stood over her sizing her up. The figure in the black suit was wearing gloves as Betty noticed; even though it was a million degrees. Something was wrong. Betty just knew it.

The girl realised the situation she had to alert her friend before it was too late.
"I give up already. You win Betty, that was quite a good hide now come on tell me where you are!"demanded Emma.
As Betty and the strange figure faintly heard that, Betty screamed. She screamed like a banshee. Then she could barely breathe or see.

"I'm coming Betty, I'm coming!"shouted Emma.
It was definitely apparent to Betty that she had been picked up, carried a few metres and thrown into the back of that very van that blocked the sun from reaching her house; just like the sack around her head.

By the time Emma had reached the front garden, luckily she just saw a large white van pull away and drive off. Emma was certain and so was Betty that she had been kidnapped. The one mistake the kidnapper made was that Betty always wore a ribbon material bracelet around her wrist; this was lying on the gate; the entrance to her front garden.
