Tom is my name, I'm to young to know what's a soulmate is or anything about soulmate
Cause I'm still 6
But I always heard people saying about this things that called soulmate
I always heard people saying about their "soulmate"

One day I ask my mother about this things called "soulmate"
My mother laughs and said
"Soulmate isn't a 'thing', soulmate is a person"
The I ask my mother before I go to bed
"Mom what is a soulmate?"
"Soulmate is someone who cares about you, who will accept you as who you are"
"When will I meet my soulmate?"
"When you are 20, there will be a string that you and your soulmate can see, only you and them"
"Will my soulmate be someone that I know?"
"Some people soulmate are their friends and some are strangers"
"What if I never like my soulmate?"
"You are a really curious little child tom! just like me when I was little and you will like and love them"
"But--"
"Hey it's time for bed, next time I will tell you ok?"
"Ok mom, good night"
"Good night my little cupcake!
Sweet dreams I love you"

Mother was right
Well she's always right
Even tho she's always right
She sometimes break a promise

After that night
She never told me anything about soulmate

But I did hear my mom talk to her friend about something
It was related to soulmate

I only heard
"Don't tell your child about soulmate, until he was ready
At least not in this age"
"Why?"
"I don't want Tom
Feeling like soulmate is a bad thing"
"Fine but I promise him to talk--"
"Hear me, I don't want Tom to feel like he will never find his soulmate, do you want that to happen?"
"Of course Not! I love my son and I don't want anything bad happened to him, *sigh* fine I'll talk to him about soulmate when he is 13 or 15"

The the conversation stop
Then I go to my room
Asking so many questions to
Myself

" soulmate... is this really the only thing that this world care?"
