Chapter 5

I wake up to an empty house, so at least that's what I thought.

I force myself out of bed, not really in the mood to attend school today, and perform my daily routine. I walk downstairs and open the door. I freeze in the doorframe when I hear footsteps. I turn around and stare at the person before me.

"Goodmorning, Jurnee," His voice was low and deep, he had bags under his pale green eyes, and his brown hair was disheveled. Why was he here? How did he get in? I felt uneasy having a man in my house, especially a grown one. I let go of the door knob and turn around to face this unknown. "Can you elucidate to me why you're here, please?"

He quickly glanced down to his feet then back at me, "I came to make sure you're okay. You know, since no one's here with you."

"I'm fine," I tried to make my responses as short as possible so I won't say anything rude, knowing he means a lot to my mom, "How'd you get in?"

"I got the key from your mom's bag."

"Did you take anything else?"

He looked hurt, "No," He pulled two sets of keys out and I knew which belonged to my house.

"Look, I don't know you," I reached over and took the house keys from him, "so please don't make it a propensity to come over here unannounced." He nodded and I sighed letting my shoulders sag. I looked out the door realizing I didn't have a ride to school.

I heard the dangling of keys and looked at the host. His lips were curled at the ends. "Need a ride?" I nodded and followed him out of the house.

We didn't talk much, but I found out his name was Frank. I was still getting use to this school and its layout. I had to ask a few people for help, Snookie being one of them.

I enter my class which is Chemistry. The teacher looks at my schedule and tells me to have a seat next to someone I knew not of, the same person who happened to be my lab partner. There was hardly anyone in the classroom yet. I looked around until someone caught my eye.

A flawless girl sat at a table with a blacktop. Her jet black hair was full and flowed perfectly down her back without her trying. Her eyes were endlessly dark, making her plump lips seem pinker. Her jawline looked smooth even to touch and shaped to perfection just like her eyebrows. Her cheekbones were high and she had curves in all the right places. And she was my lab partner.

I walked over to the table and slid into the seat next to her. My knee accidently brushed against her crossed legs making her attention turn to me.

"S-sorry," I stammered.

"No big deal," She shook her head, not lifting her eyes from her paperwork.

"Oh okay," I sigh, "My name is Jurnee."

The girl only nodded.

I found this girl to be quite intriguing, yet she didn't to come off as a nuisance already. "W-what's... yours?" I stammered, "Your name,"

The exotic looking girl raised her dark eyes and starred over at me making my breath hitch. I was enthralled in the girls' endless dark eyes. "Madison," she whispered softly.

"Beautiful," I breathed. Madison offered a sly smirk. "Y-Your name, I meant!" I clipped hastily.

Madison nodded, "I don't really like it but thanks."
