- prologue

Daniel sat down beside Eden with worry pumping in his veins. Eden had told him they had something important to tell him and that it may cause him to look at them differently. They both had been dating for about six months but, to each of them, it has felt like they've been dating for several years. They both know so much about each other, pretty much everything and anything- at least, Daniel thought.

Eden sat down next to Daniel, their hand in his with both their fingers intertwined and resting on Eden's left knee. Daniel sat on their left side on the sofa, and he couldn't stop staring at them. Their face was full of regret, Eden knowing she had to tell him sooner or later- and they knew telling him now was the better option.

"What is it you have to tell me, babygirl? What's bothering you so much?" Daniel questioned his lover, rubbing his thumb on the back of their hand to reassure her that he will always stay with her.

"Well, uh, that's the thing I wanted to talk to you about, actually." Eden responded as they looked up from the floor and back into those ocean blue eyes of the gorgeous boy sitting next to them. They didn't want him to break up with them, they adored this eighteen year old boy so much. Although love wasn't necessarily in the air quite yet, he has helped them in more ways than they can express.

"What do you mean?"

A deep sigh escaped Eden's lips slowly before they decided to speak up again. "I'm actually transgender."

Daniel eyes went wide with shock. "You're a transgender female?" He asked, cocking his head to the side in confusion.

"No no no- what I meant was that I identify as a transgender male." A shaky breath exhaled through their nose, their hand shaking after the words left their mouth.

Daniel looked down at the floor and released his hand from his girlfriend- no, what, his boyfriend.
