As I got on the bus I saw my friend sitting alone. When she saw me she invited me over with a flourish of her hand. We talked the whole ride about the new mayor who was going to be ordained later. We soon saw the school in the distance and with a swerve of the bus we arrived. The sky looked abnormally gray today but I didn't notice. When we went inside everyone was talking about an insubordinate criminal who broke out of a jail near by. The news pervaded around the school like wild fire. I walked into my first class and there was a sub. For some unknown reason there was a decrease of teachers so the school had to hire subs to fill on. He wrote his name legibly in the board when someone screamed. We heard gunshots and the announcements came on and the criminal was in our school and we were going into a lockdown. Everybody went into a panic until there was a knock at the door. We all went quiet and backed into the far wall. 'He couldn't get in' I thought 'the door was locked'. My thoughts were soon evicted when a masked man came bursting through the door. He shot the substitute and a few kids who came at him. He took the remnant of us hostage. I couldn't figure out his incentive and the curiosity was killing me. I stood up to ask him and all I remember is a white hot pain coursing through my body. Then it was dark.
