“Come on girls! All we need is this point to win!” Ellie, my best friend yelled beside me yelled to our team, preparing us for what was coming.

It was a beautiful day in Malibu, which wasn’t unusual. Since it was the weekend, my mates and I decided to pay a friendly game of volleyball; Boys vs. Girls. Everything was a tie at the moment: both boys and girls had won a set each and all the girls needed to win were one point. Even though it’s a friendly game, it quickly became competitive.

All the pressure was on me to get the serve right. I managed to get the ball over the net and the game began.

Everything after the serve was a complete blur. The ball was moving all over the court, everyone taking opportunity to win the game, but everyone was fighting back.

Then I saw it. The boys would never predict a spike and the ball was in a perfect position for it. I ran to the net and managed to pull it off.

Time seemed to slow down as the ball slowly made its way to the sand. Jordan: my closest guy friend began to dive for the ball, slowly moving closer to the ball. My heart began to race, all my hard haven’t paid off, but his attempt failed; meaning that we got the final point to win the game.

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, grabbing my nearest girlfriends into a hug. I couldn’t help it. I was excited that we won the game, meaning all of our hard work paid off but it’s tiring try to prove that girls are just as good at sports as boys.

My best guy friend; Jordan came over with a weak smile on his face, but i bet everyone had a similar smile on their faces. “Good game girls, you deserved that win,” he panted. I guess we were all tired.

As I collected my stuff, I noticed a stand about a few metres away. “Ice cream!” I yelled at the top of my lungs the moment I saw it. I turned to my friends and gave them my best puppy dog face in hopes that I wouldn’t go alone, which I really didn’t want to do. “Fine, I give in” my friend Ellie sighed and we began walking to the stand, chatting about random things in our lives and not surprisingly, One Direction.

“I can’t that One Direction is here! And I get to go to go to their concert,” Ellie sighed after spotting a poster of their up and coming concert as we continued to the ice cream stand. “I know, and I can’t believe that I just missed out on tickets too,” I mumbled as I flashed back to last week’s incident. I spent five hours waiting in line for tickets to their concert and the last ticket was sold to the girl in front of me, who by the way; pushed in front of me! But I was excited for Ellie who managed to get tickets.
