Your POV

"Heya, Tanner." You mumbled into the bottom of your phone, applying some nude lipstick onto your lips.

"Hey, beautiful, you ready?" He answered. You and Tanner were going on your first date today. He kept it a surprise so you didn't have any idea what he was doing or where he was bringing you.

You blushed. "Of course I am, are you downstairs?"

"Uh huh. I'll see you in a minute." He mumbled.

"Okay..." You quickly cut the call, and stuffed your phone into your back pocket.

You pulled your vans on and hurried downstairs, grabbing a denim jacket from the coat rack beside the door.

You approached his car, and opened the door, climbing in beside him.

"You look amazing." He whispered, leaning forward and pressing a chaste kiss onto your cheek.

You blushed for the second time in 5 minutes, and grinned. "You look great too, Tanner."

He was clad in black ripped skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and a black snapback hat.

"Thank you." He said, fingering his chain as he pulled out of your driveway.

"Now...can you tell me where you're bringing me? I'm beginning to feel a little suspicious." You said, dusting your skinny jeans off awkwardly.

"I told you, Y/N, it's a surprise. You'll find out when we get there." He said.

You sighed, and pulled at the thin straps on your deep camo green body suit. "Can you at least tell me how long it'll take to get there?"

"Probably, 10, 15 minutes maybe?" He told you. "I'll need you to close your eyes too."

"When?" You mumbled.

"I'll tell you when to close them." He said.

"Okay..."

"Close your eyes, please!" Tanner exclaimed, while turning a corner. 10 minutes had passed, and you were getting a little impatient.

You quickly covered your eyes with your hand, and waited for him to tell you to open them again.

Another minute or two passed, until he stopped his car and turned it off.

"Don't open your eyes yet" he said, opening his door and climbing out. He quickly ran around the front of his car, and opened your door, helping you out.

He guided you over to what felt like a blanket and sat you down.

"Just wait one more second." He said, running off somewhere.

You heard a car door shut and another few footsteps, and then a small thud beside you.

"Okay...open your eyes."

You took your hand from your eyes, and took in the amazing view before you.

The sun was slowly setting, so you could see the lights from the buildings glow. You could also see Venice beach from where you were sitting.

"Wow..." you whispered.

"I knew you'd like it..." he smiled, opening the picnic basket that was sitting in between you two.

He took out carbonara pasta, some fruit and two bottles of ginger ale and two plastic champagne flutes.

"I didn't get us champagne because you're still too young, but anyway..." he mumbled, making a small laugh escape your lips.

"This is absolutely amazing, Tanner, thank you so much." I said, taking one of the plastic glasses from him after he filled them up.

"There's no need to thank me." He whispered, leaning forward and pressing another kiss to my cheek.

I smiled as we tucked into our picnic.

Soon enough, the sun was gone and the starts were shining down on the two of you.

You were staring out at the city of LA while eating at a brownie and whipped cream.

"This is so nice..." you whispered, eating a bite of the chocolatey heaven Tanner's mom made.

"Mhmm..." he agreed. "Wait, the view of the brownies?"

"Everything."

Suddenly, he sat up, taking his hat off and ruffling his hair, before placing it on his head again.

"I really, really like you, Y/N..." he said, eating his last bite of brownie.

"I really like you too..." You smiled. His eyes flickered from yours to your lips, and then back up again.

He leaned forward, and pressed his lips on your. You were never the type of person that would kiss on the first date, but since you liked Tanner so much, you figured you could bend that rule for a night.

He pulled back after a second, and looked into your eyes, before you kissed him again, wrapping your arms around his neck.
