chapter 1

Milo was causing absolute chaos. He had started what I think of as the great toddler war(December 14 2017- whenever their parents pick them up from the mall). He is standing on top of Santa Claus's large belly and beating his chest like a Tarzan. We're at the kiddie playground at the mall, and as his older sister, I should stop him, but I'm literally tied up. Like seriously, the toddlers tied me up with a skipping rope and gagged me with a blankie that still smelled faintly of baby barf . The only other non-toddler-soldier there was a Santa Claus impersonator , and he was very much held up. In other words , he being used as a living bouncy castle , and being eighty-something he couldn't really do anything about it. A girl from my school, Nadine crewe walked by , trailing her squad behind her. Upon spotting me , she could have helped me, but no , she takes out her phone and takes a picture which I am sure she will post online. They walk away tittering to their snotty selves.  The war officially ended at 5 p.m , when my mum came to pick us up and the toddlers have calmed down. She unties me and we go home. So goes the life of India Prescott.

Basically , we are friends with almost everyone in our grade (except Nadine and her lip gloss addicted zombies and in my case  boys ). We're kind of like superheroes who don't save people or have any super powers (other than the power to annoy our biology teacher , Mr Callaghan to the point of sheer exhaustion and possibly insanity ).

I have a sinking feeling that some dark force is coming my way at this very moment. Oh joy, Nadine is here."hey there India, I see you've been untied . I wonder how one manages to get held captive by toddlers anyway" she says with a stupid smirk on her face . I can't think of a good come-back so I just glared at her. "Anyway, I can sympathize. I was once kidnapped and held for ransom ". Her whole posse gasps.
First:who would be willing to pay to have a bratty like her back?
Second:who brags about being kidnapped?that's a whole new level of snobbery and stupidity.
She obviously needs to be brought down a few levels ."I'm sure your kidnappers didn't get very far, someone would have heard you after all your whining can be heard from hundreds of miles away". An over eager lacky speaks up , saying , "no it can't! Twenty meters away , tops ." The rest of her brood of airheads break into an argument about how loud her whining is.
