I awaken still sweating & shaking from the night before. My parents had gotten into a pretty heated argument before discussing a divorce.
Walking in the hallways reminded me once again, why I hated school so much. It's too open but at the same time so closed. Too much closure but also not enough. School put a sweet piece of sadness into me. I cant fail or slip up or I'm getting kicked off of the football team, and I now have a full scholarship at Harvard through football and I could lose that all with just one simple little grade. It stresses me the fuck out. It stresses me, then comes in the unnecessary sadness. This is bull. Shit. A quick call snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Kason? Man, I haven't seen you in a few days, are you okay? Coach has been looking for you, he needed you to demonstrate for the freshmen" Jersey says.
"I'm fine. Just had to take a few days off" I run my fingers through my hair.
"A few days? You were gone for 2 and a half weeks."
"It's really been that long?"
"Yes" he hisses.
I finally come to a realization that I have had myself locked in my room for the past few weeks, talking to nobody or on any type of social media site, or watching tv. Just locked away in my room in the pure silence and quiet hiss of my ceiling fan. Nothing more.
"Well there's a hot piece of freshman waiting for you." He slaps my back. "Welcome home man"
If this is what home feels like, I wanna go on a vacation. I count my footsteps in my head on my way to my locker before a tiny blonde haired red lipstick wearing girl slams herself against the locker right next to mines.
"Hi" she twirls her hair.
"Hi" I reply not even looking in her direction.
"So I heard you wanted to hook up" she smacks her lips.
"I don't recall saying that"
"Well, do you want to?" She continues on whilst doing things to try to get my attention.
Do I? I mind as well, it might just make me feel better.
I peer over at her before grabbing my geometry book.
"Black Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot at 12:00" I slam my locker.
She slightly jumps. "I'll be there" she smiles giddily before running back to her friends.
