"It's Darren Drew!" a hushed whisper spread around the crowd. "Its Darren Drew riding Charlie!" And they were off! Charlie was the best pony in the ring so far today and everyone cheered as he completed each perfect jump.
Darren sat back in the saddle as Charlie cantered forward towards the last fence. The crowd held their breath. This was the triple bar that every other pony had failed to clear. Charlie sped towards it and then they were up sailing over the fence as the whole crowd rose to their feet and stamped and clapped and shouted out Charlie's name.
"Charlie!" They yelled. "Charlie!"
Then Darren's name was being called out too- and he recognised the voice.
"Darren! Darren! Time to get up!" His dad was shouting up the stairs.
Suddenly Darren wasn't in the gymkhana ring any more - he was lying in bed. He remembered straight away that it was Saturday.
