ALL CHARACTERS EXCEPT MINE BELONG TO J.K. ROWLING
Maggie sets down the stool and pulls out her list of names. The people around me start to whisper.
"-I want to be in Slytherin-"
"-Mum'll kill me if I don't get into Ravenclaw-"
"-just want this to be over-"
"Evans, Daisy."
I trot over to the stool that Maggie brought. She places the hat on my head and it starts to talk in the back of my head all creepy-like. A smile spreads across my face.
"Go to your new table, Evans," Maggie barks. I can tell that Maggie doesn't like me, but I'll fix that. I get up and walk to the table with the red and gold table-runner. I sit next to the girl with the tall, lanky girl with pale blond hair and freckles. Next to her is Creevy. He doesn't like me because of the train incident. He kept taking pictures the whole boat ride over. Hagrid's a nice guy, but I still don't like him. He could've taken me to Diogon Alley last year with Harry. But no-no-no, he just couldn't do that because I'm a Muggle. How incredibly rude. We exchange "hello"s and wait for the sorting to end. Finally, food appears and we dig in without hesitation. When we're finished, Big D comes up to the his alter and says stuff. Maggie tells us to go with Erin and Aaron, the fifth-year Gryffindor prefects. She also tells us that first years are having an orientation tomorrow morning after breakfast in the Great Hall. Erin and Aaron walk us to a portrait of a fat lady. After saying "Wattlebird" the eight of us Gryffindors walk into the Gryffindor Common Room. Mismatched couches and chairs sit around a big wood-burning fireplace. A big fire burns inside. One wall has red and gold stained-glass windows. There's a group of fourth-year boys in the corner and another group of sixth-year girls sitting around the fireplace, but other then that, it's just us. Erin points to a doorway that has a cute little sign that says gιяℓ'ѕ ∂σямιтσяу on it. We walk straight, turn 90 degrees counterclockwise, and walk up a set of old, wooden stairs. At the top, eight doors greet us. Each door has a little sign and a piece of paper on it with the names of the people who sleep inside. To the comple left is seventh-years and to the complete right is first-years. In the middle is the bathroom. I walk toward the one labeled "First-years" and open it. Five four-poster beds sit around the room. In the middle is a big gold and red rug. Blondie dives into the closest bed and sighs.
"I gotta go to bed," she murmurs through her new pillow."It's so soft."
"But first we need to become BFFs so we can know each other for tomorrow," I say, laying on my bed.
"Oh, don't worry about that," Blondie assures."We already are."
Silence falls upon our new room. Ginny and the brunette start to snore. Then I remember."But I don't even know you're name."
"It's Caroline Black," she yawns."But call me Callie."
