The moon. The great, cratered moon. For some, the moon symbolizes balance. For others, renewal. But for me, my father, and the rest of the pack, it is symbolized as the Master of The Beast. During every full moon, it's light captivates us all and changes us to the savage beasts that live their days inside us.
We've secluded ourselves from the rest of the town we lived in our whole lives out of fear that we may lose control. No one from the pack, excluding my father, has ever left the safety of the clearing that was deep in the Chezline Woods. Which also meant that no one else has seen any other species except our own aside from my father, the alpha.
Everyone in the pack knows about the other species, both in the natural and supernatural world, of course, it's just that no one's been in any sort of contact with any that didn't walk on all fours. That is, until my father, Dego, decided that it would be best for the under-aged to go to Chezline, in the human schools.
I had tried to convince him that it was a bad idea, that the pups have never interacted with humans, much less have seen any. But, his mind was set, saying that it would give us a chance to experience new things and meet others.Which leads us to where we are now. Me, Gallie Lyall, and one of the betas, Mikiah Smith, walking up to the main office of Chezline High School to start the next and most unexpected chapter of our lives.
