tom couldn't lie to tord about what he saw last night. he had to mention it.

why had he rejected tord? everything in his mind had screamed say yes.

did he want more time?

was he playing with the devil horned teen?

did he really win his heart?

tom shook his head angrily. he hated thinking about that night.

it was the middle of the day. his mother was calling his name.

"TOM! TOM! there's something here for you!" tom raced out of his room and down the stairs. he grabbed the small package and raced back upstairs and slammed the door to his room.

he sat on his bed with the box, wondering who would send him anything.

tom grabbed a small pocket knife and cut open the package and turned it over.

a string of flowers spilled out along with a letter. as tom looked closer at the string, he realized it was a gradient of dark blues and purples. he put it  up on his wall and proceeded to the letter. the envelope had beautiful white stars gleaming on top of a hand-painted sky. he opened it slowly, putting the envelope on the bedside table.

dear star-dust,

do you love my string of flowers? i made it while thinking of you. this is my first letter to you. i will never reveal myself to you or anyone else. i hope you understand.  i can bear to let people know i think of you in this way.

i would like to send a few things in each letter that i feel like you should have more pride in. you seem very selfless but never pay attention to the things that you should take pride in. about three to four things will be encased in each letter that i love about you.

1. your smile is as bright and as beautiful as the stars.

2. your hoodie collection is so extravagant and i love every single one of them.

3. the way the sky reflects in your void eyes makes me want to watch the stars dance in your eyes forever.

    love, T.L

who was this secret admirer? he set the letter on top of the envelope. as more proceeded to come, he'd make something for them. maybe a box with the envelopes.

he needed something to remember his admirer.

maybe he'd never see him. maybe he would.

he fell asleep thinking of how much this lover could really love him.

tom woke up and jumped out of bed immediately. he put on his favorite sweatshirt, the one he wore the night he rejected tord. that was weeks ago, it seemed like.

was it weeks ago?

was it yesterday?

no, it couldn't have been yesterday. he saw tord cut himself last night.

it was the night before, right?

he opened the window and jumped out. he saw tord sitting in a field of flowers. he seemed to have grown all of them by himself.

tom sat next to him. he was going to hold his hand, until he saw his arm was encased in bandages. some were tinted red.

"tord?"

the teen spun around to face him.

"hello, thomas! what a beautiful night tonight."

"amazing for star-gazing, huh?"

"yeah."

tom fiddled his fingers, and then he blurted it out.

"tord, i saw you cutting yourself last night. was that you?"

he didn't answer.

"tord i dont want you to be in pain."

tom held his hand but tord pulled away.

"flower-child..! tord! was it you? do you really hate yourself that much?"

tord was started to cry silently. he nodded.

"well i dont hate you, i never would and i never will."

"wh.. why dont you hate me?"

"because.. because.."

he couldn't stop the words falling out his mouth.

"because i love you."

tom leaned in and kissed him, a warm sensation spreading through his body.

tord grabbed him by the waist to pull him in closer while they were kissing, his cold touch seeming to get warmer as they spent more time making out.

tom pulled away, staring at tord. the tears were wiped from his eyes, but he could still see the tear streaks down his cheeks as he smiled.

"i love you too."

he didn't need a secret admirer to love this boy. tom took his hand in his, and the looked up at the stars while sitting in a field of flowers.

nothing could stop them from loving each other.

not even T.L. whoever that was.
