Maybe then, we'll be together

Chapter 1 – Letter

Here I am lying on my bed face down again thinking of him. Every night I’ve been thinking of him, I just can’t stop thinking about him no matter what I do. I remember the first time I saw him. It was on the day that my father had left us for another woman when he came. Apparently he was my big brother’s best friend. He had dark hair, dark brown eyes and olive colored skin.

His name was Austin, Austin Mahone, he is so….mesmerizing. Yet I couldn’t have him because he was taken, but this time it was more different. I was also thinking about his gf Katie, Katie Wittlock. Katie is pretty but she came from a really messed up family. She is also petite, with dark brown hair and hazel colored eyes. She’s a nice person when she’s with people but when she’s alone, she steals money. Last year she was caught stealing money from someone, she didn’t get expelled though, and she was just suspended for a week. I still have no freaking clue as to why Austin would date her; maybe he didn’t know her past yet.

After a few minutes I stopped thinking about her and started thinking more about Austin. After that I fell asleep smiling like I always do. Today is Saturday, the starting of our summer break, it was the hottest day ever. I decided that I should have a pool party, but first I had to ask my mom, so I got out of bed still wearing my nightgown. As I walked around my house I got hungry so I went in search for food. When I found the food I was looking for I started eating, my brother Harry came and joined me.

As we ate our breakfast my mother came, as soon as she arrived I chewed and swallowed my food, then I asked my mom “mom could I have a pool party cause it’s so…..hot today” she said “sure sweetheart, just make sure your friends have food to eat”  I said “yes mom”  I was so happy she said yes. Then I turned to Harry saying “you could invite your friends if you wanna.” Normally I wouldn’t be allowing my brother to come to this type of things but in felt in a good mood today. “Umm ok” he said, as soon as I finished my breakfast I quickly ran up the stairs to my room.

My room was totally big and awesome; I had a queen size bed in the middle of the room, my own bathroom, a walk in closet. My walls were painted a light shade of pink; I also have a big carpet which is a dark creamy chocolate shade, two nightstands beside my bed, a TV on the wall, a sliding glass door to my patio, a coach near the wall which is a cream/peachy shade. I ran straight to my room and called up all my friends, they all said yes except for Hannah (Hannah is my BFF, she is a tad bit crazy but caring and fun to hang with at times, she’s wide-hipped and curvy with long straight black hair and she also has electric blue eyes) . She said no because she didn’t have any swimsuit, so I told her she could borrow one of mine so she said “uhh ok.” Hannah had also asked if she could invite her friend Jasmine. I said “sure.” The pool party started at 12 pm, all my friends started to arrive. I was wearing a one piece navy colored strapless swim dress.

As soon as Hannah arrived, I grabbed her hand and pulled her to my room. I gave her a black scoop neck one piece with colorful floral print and a triple strap. Once she wore the swimsuit, I dragged her outside and told her to sit by me. While me and Hannah were sitting near the pool, Hannah introduced me to her BFF Jasmine. Jasmine was also curvy; she had long dark chocolate hair that cascaded down the back, eyes the color of the blue sky and pale skin dotted with freckles. Jasmine was wearing a shoulder one piece that had a gold bead on the strap, her swimsuit was blue-ish green. I told Jasmine to come sit by us, so when she sat, we all started talking about girly stuff, a bit about school but mainly about guys.

 So while we were seating near the pool, Austin came. When I saw him, my heart started beating really fast and I couldn’t control it. Suddenly everything just went black, when I opened my eyes all I could see were dark brown eyes. Then I heard someone ask me “Jaymin are you ok?” All I could do was nod, and then suddenly I was lifted up by someone. When I was being lifted up, I had just realized that Austin was carrying me. I was in throes of ecstasy even though my head kind of hurt.

When I turned my head I could see his bare chested abs. I was completely stunned, I mean I knew he was fit but I didn’t’ know he was that fit. While I was day dreaming of his abs, I was laid onto something comfy. So when I was looking around I noticed that Austin brought me, well actually carried me to my room. When I was lying on my bed, I shifted into a sitting position; I was cross legged on my bed when Austin spoke to me “Jaymin what happened? you just fainted outside”, when I looked up at him he looked very concerned. In fact he looked very cute that way. When he said that, he sat next to me looking straight into my eyes.

I had to answer him so I said “I don’t know, but all I know is that one moment I was sitting near the pool and then everything went black and my head kind of hurts but I’m ok.” He suddenly stood up and grabbed my hand and dragged me out of my room. Then he led me to the kitchen and opened the fridge and grabbed a bag of ice, and then he led me out of the kitchen, the whole time he was doing this he was holding my hand. Then he brought me up to my room and told me to sit on my bed and when I sat on my bed, he put the bag of ice on my forehead.

While he was holding the bag if ice to my forehead, I realized that I should say thank you. “Thank you Austin for umm you know helping me”, I felt embarrassed to say thank you to him but anyways at least I did it. He said “you welcome”, then suddenly I asked him “why did you help me? Don’t you have a gf?” he said “I broke up with her two days ago”, when he said that my eyes went big and my mouth dropped open. He mumbled something but I didn’t hear it; I was too shocked to concentrate on what he said. Then Austin started leaning forward, I thought he was gonna kiss me but there came a knock at my door. When I turned my head, Hannah, Jasmine, my mom and Harry were there.

There was a long moment of silence until my mom broke it by saying “Jaymin sweetie are you alright? Harry told me you fainted.” I said “yeah mom I’m alright, but my head still hurts though.” When I turned my head to look at Austin, he was standing next to me, then he handed me he bag of ice and left the room. I noted that he looked totally pissed, I had no idea as to why he would be pissed. Hannah and Jasmine entered the room but before they could sit down I said “I need time alone.” So once I said that they started exiting my room immediately.

When they left I stood up from my bed and went into my walk in closet and changed into a nightgown. The nightgown I was wearing had spaghetti straps, ruffles at the top and at the bottom and it was pink. As soon as I was finished changing I went straight to bed and fell asleep. After a few minutes, I heard someone knocking on my door, and then I heard a voice asking “can I come in?” I didn’t know who it was but I didn’t care. I opened my eyes, stood up and walked angrily to my door. When I was at the door, I opened it angrily and started saying “whoever you are will you please just leave me on, I just fainted and you come here and disturb me.”

When I looked up, I saw that it was Austin, Austin said “umm Jaymin I’m sorry for disturbing you, I’ll just leave you.” “No!” I screamed, “Umm I mean no you didn’t disturb me.” I fake laughed but just hoped it didn’t sound fake “uhh you can stay if you like?” I asked, he asked “you sure?” and I said “for sure I’m sure.” So as I said that he entered my room. I closed the door behind him and told him he could sit on my bed. When he sat on my bed, I sat on my bed too but I gave us a bit of distance. There was a moment of silence until Austin said “Jaymin I just wanted to ask you about that letter you gave me a year ago.”

 Last year I had a crush on him and I asked Hannah to help me tell him and we decided to just put a letter in his locker and that idea didn’t turn out so great( the letter said “Austin I really like you, I know you have a girlfriend and all but I just really needed to tell you……..  your secret admirer xox) he knew it was me that wrote it because he could recognize my writing so he got all pissed off and we never spoke of it again until now. But oh my goodness I can’t believe he said that. Why would he even wanna talk about that letter I gave him, now I really regretted asking him to come in? But anyways I had to say something so I said “what’s there to talk about?” He said “well I just wanted to know if you still like me?” oh….no…., how will I answer this question. I was totally freaking out but I hoped it didn’t show on my face. I really wanted to say yes but I couldn’t but I was gonna try. So I opened my mouth then closed it again. I did the only thing that I could just say…. “No” and when I said that Austin looked perturbed.

 After that he said goodbye and left. Then I said “maybe then, we'll be together” to where he last was. I totally felt like a complete idiot for saying that but it was the only way to keep us apart, I knew we weren’t meant for each other. So after that scene I cried softly on my pillow , blocking the whole world out and only me in. when I was done crying I came down to eat dinner still looking upset but none of my family members asked why, they just left me to my silence. When I ate my dinner, I went straight to bed.
