Epilogue:Riven

"Slow down Riven!" Shouted Darcy, breathless
Riven signed, then waited for his girlfriend to catch up
"I thought you would enjoy a night hike" stated Riven in his Scottish accent
" oh yeah, when I'm on holiday in Florida, I really wanna go for a walk in some dank woods in the dark" Darcy muttered sarcastically
Riven smiled kindly
"Another reason why I love you, your honest, no matter what others are gonna think" he whispered
"You want more honesty? Your the best damn boyfriend in the world" she smiled
The pair embraced and kissed, then sat under a large tree, watching the moon rise
"God I love you so much Riven" smiled Darcy
"I promise you, when we go back to Scotland, it's gonna be us against the world, look at that star there" explained Riven, pointing at a small star which had just been revealed by the rising full moon.
Darcy nodded and turned her head towards the star
"A star, millions of miles away, filled with power and energy, but for us that's nothing, together we can do anything, change the world, just you and me Darcy" he said, while she was looking into his coral eyes, and stroking his dark brown hair.
"The world is ours, you hear me Darcy, all ours!" Proclaimed Riven

But Darcy had stopped listening to his kind words and big plans
She was distracted by a grunting noise, coming from behind a huge pine tree
"Darcy?" Questioned Riven as he noticed she was standing up
The grunting noise became a growling noise, louder and louder
"Darcy, get back here!" Called Riven, standing up carefully
Darcy turned her head round at Riven, then looked back quickly
To see a man standing in front of her, at least, she thought it was a man
But as the dark figure slowly marched towards her, she realised it was more then a man
"What the hell you doing?" Asked Riven, then he saw the look on his girlfriends face
The look of true terror
Then he saw what she was looking at
A beast of a man, with glowing eyes, like a burning sun, and razor sharp nails and teeth. The creature towered over them, the pair froze, the moons reflection shining of the mans yellow eyes, blinding them.
Before Darcy could scream, Riven grabbed her hand and almost dragged her as the pair ran, ran as fast as they could.

The only word that were in Rivens mind

Just run

The pair passed dozens of trees, each looked the same as the last one, Riven realised they were lost, not that at this moment he would admit it, he was too busy being terrified

Just keep running, maybe whatever the hell it was will give up Riven thought to himself

By the time Riven and Darcy reached the edge of the ravine, there lungs were screaming and there was a faint taste of blood in there mouths

"I, I, think it lost us" whimpered Riven breathlessly, trying to keep on his feet

"Oh God, what the hell what that?" Questioned Darcy, sitting at the edge of the ravine

"I don't know, but I for sure don't want to find out" stated Riven, gaining his footing

Darcy stood up, then let out a silent scream when she saw the clawed man dashing towards her like a rabid animal, and in a flash the creature had tore out Darcy's throat and chest, before she could cry out or pray. Riven tried to do something, anything to save his love, he punched and threw himself at the beast, desperately trying to distract it, but when it carelessly threw what was left of Darcy down the ravine, it then turned to Riven, millimetres from his face, it's razor sharp teeth and dirty yellow eyes  staring into Riven.
Riven looked at it, feeling almost offended that such a creature exist in this world, so wrong
He then noticed the smell radiating of the creatures face, the stench of meat and sweat
Darcys sweat, Darcys flesh
It hit him, she was dead, his sweet sweet girl, was gone
Riven had never felt such distress, such anger before
He screaming like he never had before, and went crazy on the creature, trying to do any damage to it he possibility could
The creature simply picked up the rageful Riven in his huge jaws, and violently threw him to the ground, slicing through his shirt, leaving a big gash from his teeth
"Ahhhhhhh!" Howled Riven, trying to get up, but the wound on his chest was burning like nothing he had ever known before.

He laid there, silent, waiting for the beast to send him the same way as his girlfriend, but then, he heard faint gunshots in the distance, Riven thought he imagined it, but as the shots grew closer, and the animal like man darted away, Riven let out his first breath for a long time.

Darcy has died

But he Had survived

And as he laid, broken, staring up at the glowing full moon

He wished he hadn't
