My names Rebecca. Rebecca Garcia to be more specific. And if you haven't noticed from my common last name my race is Mexican. I currently live in Las Vegas Nevada. That's right. Sin City. Adult Disneyland. Whatever nicknames you got for this small town. You may think it's huge, but it's only because of the tourists. people don't actually consider living here. the population is only a few million. But whatever from that point. let's get back to my story.
There is so much drama, where do i even begin? I guess the basics like all my friends and romantic relationships all start in the 8th grade...
I started off as 13 starting 8th grade. It was gonna gonna be my third year of playing the viola. I was just so amazed playing into this lovely sounding instrument that was basically easy to carry. I was excited to possibly become the best orchestra player in that class because it was honestly so much fun to excel in something that i really did start to fall in love with. My younger sister Olivia was 12 and was starting 7th grade. She had 2 other friends in her grade that i also have been friends with the previous year. We all went to the same middle school and it was a pretty tiny school. There was only 800 students in all 3 grades. It wasn't really chance that i met her friends Charlotte and Rafael.
I started hanging out with them more often because the three of us had a period together which was advanced orchestra. It was fun hanging out with them and always teasing and bullying Rafael all the time. He was honestly the most cleaned minded little 12 year old i have ever met. So me, Charlotte and Olivia always talked about dirty jokes and Rafael would be so lost into what we are talking about and then the look on his face when we finally explained the jokes to him. I've never seen anyone with more of a disappointed face than him. He was also the smallest out of our little squad. He was more than 5 inches shorter than anyone else we've met and we were pretty sure when he was in the 6th grade he was the shortest one out of the whole school which is quite funny to tease him about.
Orchestra which is basically the only class out of the other five that i had that year is the only one that is going to matter in this story. Our favorite orchestra teacher and just teacher in general was Ms. Miller. She was tough on every single student. She would hit us with her violin bow and would make us stand in the corner if we forgot our instrument or we didn't bring our sheet music. Or basically not ready to start the class. Although she was the toughest teacher i have ever had. She was my most favorite teacher ever and i took all of her advice in vein. Because of her i really did want a career into playing the viola. I found something where i was actually pretty good at and something i genuinely wanted to get better at. She always tried her best with everyone and i don't think i ever saw her give up with a single student. Everyone in class always came out better everyday.
There was always drama between Charlotte and Rafael. During their 6th grade year Charlotte asked out Rafael as a boyfriend but he never flat out gave an answer so Charlotte forgot about it and got over him. Now they're in 7th grade and Rafael's smart ass decides to ask out Charlotte. But through note paper
"He asked you out... on... note paper..?" I said while holding the piece of paper that Charlotte had given to me after Rafael handed to her. "Yes! But what do i say? I'm over him but i don't want him to feel bad. His heart will be crushed if i reject him!" She had a point there. Everyone basically knew that he was the most innocent guy ever and if he ever had his heart broken he'd would be crushed and devastated. "Well this is gonna be your life and your relationship it's honestly up to you." I gave back the note and just thought to myself. I actually didn't have advice for her because a guy asked me out but i never responded either. His name was Brandon and he asked me out earlier in the year. i didn't know how to respond that i actually never did. He later told me to forget about it and we went on with our lives.
