Marisa

Knocking lightly on door, Marisa took a breath leaning head against the door.
"You can come in." Tess's voice sounded fragile.
Marisa wondered if Tess resented her deep down. Was she selfish in asking Tess to live as a werewolf. If Marisa was Shaman, Tess could still be a witch too.
Opening the door, she walked in cautiously. The room was dark and cold. There was no heat in Tess's body.
Tess had her back to Marisa. Something was wrong. Did it not work?
"Please, Marisa. I think it's best I leave."
Marisa shook her head before words spilled out. "No. I just got you back. Why would you want--"
"Because...I did not turn out how you planned and I don't want you to hate me for what I have become."
Marisa stopped short of Tess sitting upright on the bed; back facing her instead. Instead of speaking, Marisa listened. She was about to say something when she realized how quiet it was. No heartbeat.
Realization hit. It did not detour how Marisa felt. "Do you hate what you've become?"
Tess snorted. "I don't know...far as I know I'm screwed in daylight."
Walking the rest of the way, Marisa grabbed Tess's arm, tugging her to turn. When she did their were crimson streaks of tears coming down Tess's face. "I probably should have read the Shaman slash werewolf manual."
Tess eyes widen and for a few seconds or was quiet until they laughed. Tess sighed, taking a few breaths she no longer needed. She put her hand against her chest about to freak out again when Marisa cupped her face. Tess looked up to her sister. "So you can turn humans into werewolves. And...I guess since I was bitten by the dead you were able to divert my turn from a zombie flesh eater to vampire bloodsucker."
Shrugging, Marisa added, "and perhaps a vampire back to human."
Tess smiled weakly. "I don't believe in fairytales."
"Good cause neither do I."
They stared intensely at each other. Marisa had questions but did not want to push. She smiled, shy like the ten year old girl she use to be. "I'm glad you're still here."
Tess reached out, brushing her hand over Marisa's arm. "I know you have questions that will be answered." Tess grimaced, locking jaw shut. Her eyes widen, averting her head away.
Paying attention to what was bothering Tess, it was as if a part of Marisa ached inside. "You're hungry," Marisa said immediately.
Not brave enough to open her mouth, Tess looked up to her sister. She was embarrassed. Tess felt fangs against her inner lip.
"I'm the last person to tell you how the transition will occur. But I suppose there are similarities. One being...you need to eat."
Covering her mouth, Tess spoke. "This is awkward."
Rolling up her sleeve, Marisa offered out her arm.
"No."
"Yes," Marisa snarled. "You can't starve."
"I'm not biting you." Tess shook her head standing up and pacing. "This is insane. I was not supposed to end up like this." All her emotions began to build, anxiety being the lead of her reaction to turning vampire. A freaking vampires. It was too hard to believe. It took a lot to bring Tess's mind to accepting her path as a werewolf. Waking up as a vampire was a turn of events.
"Things will work out." Marisa wanted to reassure Tess even though she was scared too. She didn't want to lose her sister again. Keeping her here and happy meant a lot.
"How?" I don't even know if my coven will take me back." Tess shook her head. Crimson tears slid from her eyes. She wiped them seeing the blood smear her face and hands. "God. I don't know Marisa. This wasn't apart of the plan."
Tears flooded Marisa's own eyes. "I know. I'm sorry." Hearing that Tess still wanted to go back to her coven she felt a wall go up.
A knock followed by the door opening, Val stepped in with a few familiar faces. "I brought some help."
Mckayla walked in with Rosalie, the head vampire in Arizona.
"Perfect timing," Rosalie chimed in. "We will need the room." She looked to Marisa.
"I'm not leaving," Marisa snarled.
Mckayla being sympathetic spoke softly. "She is shy to feed in front of you. I was the same way."
"Shy. Bull Shit." Marisa looked to Tess hoping she'd ask them to let her stay. When nothing was said, Marisa slammed her first into the wall.
"Marisa." Val patted her best friends shoulder. "Come on."
The grimace spreader to Marisa heart, infuriating her wolf. Snarls built and her eyes simmered gold. Turning away, she rushed off.
"Marisa." Val called off to Marisa only being waved away.
"I don't want to talk about it."
Val ran up. "Wait." She pulled out her wallet and handed Marisa two hundred bucks.
Marisa gave Val a wide glare. "What's this?"
"Take the car and go up to the main attraction at Yosemite."
"What?" No she could leave off after all this time.
"Don't worry. We'll have back up all around. But you need this." Val grabbed Marisa's arm putting the money in her hand. "I'm serious. Take a day. Cool off. Don't bring that wall up that I see coming. Give Tess time."
Taking a breath, Marisa considered. Maybe Val was right. She nodded. "Fine. I'll take a day."
"Come back tomorrow night."
Looking back to the closed door where her sister was on the other side, Val walked off not looking back. She went to Spencer's room. The door opened before she could knock. "Everything okay?"
"You want to get away with me?"
Spencer pursed her lips. "Last I checked, Val had us on lock down."
Snorting, Marisa rolled her eyes. "Not tonight. But the pack will be near."
"So...you want me to come with you? Out in civilization amongst the humans."
Val was right. Marisa needed time to breathe. She should take full advantage of this. "A lodge to ourselves. If you want. Go out to a restaurant."
"Like a date?"
Marisa smiled. "Like an overnight date." Stepping in closer, Marisa slid her arm at the small of Spencer's back. "Come with me." She knew all she was insinuating. All she wanted. "No distractions. No knocks at the door. Alone."
The thought of being alone with Marisa thrilled Spencer enough to squeal. "Let's go."

Spencer

Walking up the steps to there lodge, Marisa put their bag on the bed. "This is nice."
When Spencer did not reply she turned finding Spencer less than a foot from her. Spencer's hands worked its way up Marisa's body.
Marisa chuckled softly while breathing. Through Spencer's soft hands. Clearing her throat, "you aren't hungry...or uh." Marisa closed her eyes shaking her head. She was nervous. "Is it fair enough to say that I'm nervous?"
It was more than fair. Spencer wanted to understand why there was fear in such a strong woman. Hands now rested at Marisa's cheek Spencer waited till their eyes locked. "Talk to me."
The soft and affection in Spencer's voice eased a few of Marisa stress nerves. She sighed. Pursing her lips Marisa knew she had to be open. "My relationships in the past..." Marisa laughed out of nervousness.
"Hey...I won't be offended if you talk about your ex's."
Marisa snorted again. "See...the thing is...my past relationships weren't really relationships."
That only seemed to confuse Spencer. She narrowed her eyes on Marisa giving a half grin. "Can you elaborate?"
Marisa groaned. "I've never...had a girlfriend." She chose to blurt it out verses struggle for several minutes to say it. Spencer looked shocked and Marisa continued. "I've only casually dated. It was hard getting to close to women. To anyone."
"Now we understand why," Spencer acknowledged. "Being Shaman and not knowing..." Spencer shook her head. "Sorry. Not trying to analyze you."
Marisa leaned in kissing her softly. "I didn't know how to open up or let someone else open up to me...until now."
"Than I am more honored than I was five minutes ago." Spencer grinned.
Marisa chuckled. "Why thank you."
"Now...as much as I'd like to have dinner..."
"See that's the thing..." Marisa cut in. "I've never been on a date date." Spencer looked confused again. Marisa laughed. "I've been on dates with only the intention to fuck them after. But never this way. Not with someone I love and want more than to..."
"Fuck," Spencer finished for Marisa.
Marisa snorted. "Yes."
Changing course of action, Spencer looked at the clock on wall. It was a bit pass eight in the evening. "Let's go. On a date." Spencer linked their hands tugging Marisa toward the door. "I know exactly where to take you."
"Are you--"
"You really going to ask me that?" Spencer cupped Marisa's face. "We go...be a couple. I can't wait to show you off." She leaned in to kiss Marisa. "Then...by end of night...I will have you naked in that bed."
Marisa chuckled. "Deal."
