Chapter 1

There has been so many endless days of doing the same thing over and over that I can't keep up with the days. I wake up in the morning and get homeschooled, do my homework and watch tv and it bothers me because I can hear my neighbors outside laughing and having fun. I've never been outside before. When we need to go get something from the store or anywhere else they leave me home. One day I got tired of watching spongebob reruns and decided to go outside and come back in before my parents get home. So I went to my room, threw my hair into a ponytail, put on a shirt with a unicorn riding a rainbow eating a hotdog, and my worn out ugly brown sandals and raced outside.

"Hi, I'm Dylon. What's your name?" I greeted one of the kids outside. He looked at me, disgusted, at what I had put on when I was a rush.

"Dylon? That's a dumb name. Guys come here and check this loser out!" The boy laughed. His friends came over to see what he was laughing at. They formed a circle around me and one boy started chanting loser and after a while the others joined in. They chanted over and over until, finally, I just had enough!

"Stop!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Then, all of a sudden, long vines shot out of the ground and grabbed the taunting children around me tightly. They struggled helplessly in the vines as they cried out. I slowly took two steps back amazed. I stared at them mouth wide open. Suddenly, I heard my mom get out of the car in the driveway and race to me.

"Charlie! What did you do?!" My mom asked eyes big. I walked toward her scared out of my mind. Behind me I heard the children gasp as they were let go by the vines.

"I-I-I-I don't know all of a sudden- then vines and-," i stammered. I hugged my mom tightly as I cried on her shoulder. She held me for a little while and then led me back to the house.

"Honey, your different from the other kids," my mom said.

"Different? how?" I asked softly.

She sighed. "Honey, you have-"

"You three, grab the mom. Be prepared for her to fight back! The other three go grab the Child and be prepared, she might use her powers. The rest of you, search the house!" One of the army men instructed. Before neither my mom or I could think, they grabbed my mom and led her out the door. Before they took her away she told me to run and hide and that's exactly what I did. I dodged the three army men and ran into my mom's room. I hid In her big closet and waited there In the dark. A million thoughts ran through my mind. What did the army men mean by powers? Does that mean I made those vines shoot out? I examined my hands in the dark. After a while, it was quiet so I thought I was safe. I slowly opened the door but as I did so, the door creaked loudly . "Dang it!" I muttered under my breath. Fortunately, one of the army men heard me and opened the door and pulled me out of the closet by the arm out the door. I struggled as best as I could but they held me tightly by the wrist and pulled me to their car. I struggled and refused to get into the car.

"You know what? Let's make this easier ," the man that found me said, holding me and held me with one hand while digging in his pocket. He pulled out a syringe and stabbed It in my neck! The last thing I saw before I went unconscious was his unpleasant smirk.
