I went straight to the kitchen and grabbed myself a drink. My mouth is still dry because of my encounter with Devon.
I've been so wrapped up in my own thoughts that I didn't notice that there's someone sitting at the bar counter kaya nagulat pa ako ng paglingon ko, yung mukha ni Sigrid yung nabungaran ko.
I touched my chest and huffed in annoyance. "What's wrong with you? Why didn't you say something! And what are you doing there, anyway?"
Sigrid shrugged her shoulders. "Not my fault, you're too busy with your own world." She went down. "I just want to know kung matibay ang bar counter natin."
I rolled my eyes. "Another research for your novel? Why don't you just find someone and bang him there?" I suggest casually.
Sigrid is a writer and my "girl" best friend. She has been my best friend ever since I can remember.
"That's a good idea." Sigrid paused and took her cup at the bar counter. "Why don't you try it for me?" She added.
I smirked at her. "Oh, honey. I will but I'm afraid you'll freak out. I don't want to taint your virgin eyes and ears." Natatawa na panunukso ko dito.
Sigrid shook her head. "Liar! You never put out."
I laughed. "I can bend one of my rules for the sake of your research. Want me to call one of my toys, now?"
Sigrid peered at my face and pointed the stool next to her. "Only if you'll tell me what's keeping your twisted mind occupied?"
One of the disadvantages of having a best friend since forever? They can freaking read you like an open book.
I sighed and sat beside her, running my finger against the rim of my glass. "I saw him." I whispered, not taking my eyes off my glass.
"Him?" Sigrid asked.
I looked at her. "Him. The devil! We made an oath not to speak his name." I replied, trying to find humor in my not so humorous situation.
Sigrid's eyes widened and her jaw dropped as she stared at me. "The devil incarnate? You mean HIM?" She parroted.
I nodded my head. "The one and only."
"Shake! That fudging devil!"
I can't help but chuckle despite my pathetic situation. "You know, you can swear. Say shit or fuck, come on Sigrid. It's fucking free! You're already in your mid 20's for god's sake. Taint your virgin mouth with bad words." I paused and smirked at her. "Unless you want that to be tainted by something else." I added, voice dripping with so much innuendo.
Sigrid glared at me. "What's wrong with you—"
I cut her off. "That's my line. Think your own, Ms. Virgin Writer."
"Armie!!!"
"What?" I asked innocently.
Sigrid looked at me in disbelief. "How can you still act like this after what happened?"
I sighed and glanced away. "What do you want me to do? Cried my heart out?" I paused and looked back at her, using my straight face. "Or kill myself again?" I asked, feeling exhausted with this whole ordeal.
Sigrid gaped at me. "You wouldn't dare!" She screamed as soon as she regained her composure.
I snorted. "Relax Sigrid. I'm just kidding. You can rest assured that it won't happen again."
