Chihiro woke up in the morning and rubbed his eyes, glad it was the weekend so he could spend more time with Mondo. He glanced over at the digital clock on his nightstand. 8:35. Mondo went back home last night but he promised he'd come back in the morning. With that in mind, Chihiro got up and started the day.
~meanwhile~
Mondo finished combing his hair and grabbed his Crazy Diamonds jacket, slipping it on then heading to the garage for his motorcycle. He got on and started it up, but the engine refused to work. Mondo groaned in frustration, not having the time or correct tools to fix it. He got off and started walking towards the subway station nearby. It was faster then walking to his apartment on the other side of town.
He paid to get on and waited for his train to come, quickly getting on and grabbing a seat. Unfortunately, there was only one seat left and someone else had the same idea, causing the two males to bump into each other, allowing someone else to grab the seat. "My apologi-" The other male started but Mondo had quickly lost his temper. "Didn't ya see me headin' for that seat?! Wipe the crud outta your eyes and pay more attention!" Mondo said with a slight growl.
The other male quickly looked up, eyes wide in shock. He had short spiky black hair, tired red eyes, and large bushy eyebrows. He wore a black suit with a red tie, and held a briefcase. He had a red armband on his left arm.
*???'s POV*
(I'm trying first person. I probably suck lol)
I couldn't believe my eyes. It was him! I hadn't seen him since I went back to school! Our talks had become less and less until there were none, as we both became too busy to find a time to communicate. Even a quick text of "hey" was rare. But here he was, right in front of me, and he didn't seem to change except his hairstyle. His hair hung limp and curly, covering his right eye. The rest was the same; black jacket, white tank top with a low cut, black pants, and black shoes.
I wanted to speak, but I couldn't get words to appear. What do you say to someone you haven't seen in three years? More importantly, what do you say to your ex-boyfriend? That's right, ex. It was for the best. I still remember how it happened too.
~two years ago~
I sat at my desk, studying the textbooks I received for my classes. I heard a familiar ringing sound on my laptop, signaling someone wanted to Skype call. There were only one person I still talked to, so I immediately answered the call without looking then returned to my studying. "Hello kyodai." I said without looking up, hearing a sigh of annoyance from him. "Hey, we need ta talk." "I'm listening." "Didn't ya say that you can tell somebody's listenin' when they look in your eyes?"
"Very well." I responded, looking up from my textbook. I could tell something was wrong just by the look in his eyes. A sudden wave of fear washed over me as thoughts sped through my head faster than I could comprehend what they were saying. Shaking the feeling away, I focused on him. "What is it?" I asked hesitantly, shifting in my seat slightly. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "We need to... Ya know... take a break." He said, although it sounded as if he was uncertain with it himself.
"Take a break? Nonsense! I need to keep up with school and you have to continue with your job as a carpenter!" I exclaimed. Just by reading the look on his face, I could tell he didn't mean that. "Oh... you meant-..." "Yeah, that." He interrupted, a look of pain on his face. "Very well... It's for the best..." I replied, my voice shaking as tears threatened to form. I tried blinking them back as the horrible thoughts came back.
"Hey, everythin' will be alrigh'. It won't be forever." He said gently, although it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself. I simply nodded. "Well... I have to get back to studying. Goodnight, kyodai." I said, ending the call before he had a chance to respond. I could feel my heart break as hot tears spilled down my cheeks. I gripped at the fabric of my pants and tried to keep noises from escaping my mouth.
But it didn't work, as I let out a heartbreaking wail and began sobbing uncontrollably. When I finally calmed down, I started working harder than before. I wasn't going to let it distract me. I was going to use it to work harder.
~~~
I was snapped out of my thoughts as he started shaking me. "Hey! You ok?! Ya zoned out on me!" He said, his expression full of worry. I shook my head and composed myself. "My apologies, I was just lost in thought." I replied. I decided not to mention who I was. If he didn't recognize me, then it was for the best. I looked and noticed we were nearing my stop. "I have to go soon. Pardon me." I said calmly and headed towards the doors. "Hey, do I know ya? I feel like we've met..." He rubs his head.
I smiled. "I believe so. Just now, but perhaps in the past as well. Well, have a good day!" I saluted and quickly got off the subway as the doors opened. I sighed and composed myself before heading to my destination.
*Mondo's POV*
Mondo watched the male quickly get off the subway and sighs. He looked so familiar, but for some reason, he couldn't remember why. He waited for his stop and got off, heading to Chihiro's house. Oh, he'd definitely know who it was. If not, Alter Ego did.
Dg22: I feel horrible for ignoring this story. Honestly, I spent the longest time not knowing what to right. Now I kind of know what I'm doing, I just don't know how to progress the plot. For now, I'll give you this. So, why did Mondo forget him? And who was the mystery character? (It's obvious 😂) Anyways, that's it for now! Please bear with me, I'll try my best to update sooner than a few months after.
