So what is the Mandela effect you may ask?

The Mandela Effect refers to a phenomenon in which a large number of people share false memories of past events, referred to as confabulation in Psychiatry. Some have speculated that the memories are caused by parallel universes spilling into our own, while others explain the phenomenon as a failure of collective memory.

Why is it called the Mandela effect and where did it start?

See, in 2010, blogger Fiona Broome coined the term "Mandela Effect" to describe a collective false memory she discovered at the Dragon Con convention, where many others believed that former South African President died during his imprisonment in the 1980s, despite the fact that he lived up until 2013. That year, Broome launched the site MandelaEffect.com to document various examples of the phenomenon.

"See, I thought Nelson Mandela died in prison. I thought I remembered it clearly, complete with news clips of his funeral, the mourning in South Africa, some rioting in cities, and the heartfelt speech by his widow."

"Then, I found out he was still alive."

The most popular Mandela effect theories

The Berenstain Bears

The Berenstain Bears was really big in the 90s

The Berenstain Bears was really big in the 90s. So everybody remembers it being spelled -ein and not -ain. Most people that grew up reading these books or watching the cartoon remembers it as "The Berenstein Bears", but it's been "The Berenstain Bears the whole entire time. Every book/clip from the show that people have found have all said "The Berenstain Bears". So one Reddit user looked into their garage and found a really old tape of The Berenstain Bears.

They posted this picture of the tape, where you can see it says "The Berenstain Bears" on the front of the tape

But on the side of the same tape, it said "The Berenstein Bears".

Now, this picture has been put through a bunch of tests to see if it's photoshopped to make sure it's real, and it 100% real.

Snow White and the seven dwarfs

Another popular Mandela effect is from the movie Snow White and the seven dwarfs. And that's when the evil queen look in the mirror and says "Mirror, Mirror on the wall"... or did she say that?

But why do we remember it as mirror, mirror on the wall and not magic mirror on the wall?

IT'S ALL SHREK'S FAULT! So Shrek was all about fairytale stories, but there's copyright infringement, so they couldn't say "Magic mirror on the wall" because that's owned, so they had to say mirror, mirror. And then we all thought it was mirror mirror on the wall. SHREK IS THE REASON EVERYONE IS SHOOK AS F.UCK.

Curious Geroge

The last Mandela effect I have is about Curious George. He's a little cartoon monkey that has his own movie, TV-show, albums etc. And we all remember him as having a tail because monkeys have tails, but we were all wrong.
