Chapter Fourty - One

Luhan's Pov

We reached the hide out--where we were told to go--only to find that no one was here. Suho specifically said "our hide out" so it was strange how no one was around. 

Could something have happened to them?

It has already been 5 minutes since we arrived and still no one came to greet us.

"Guess we won't be expecting a welcome mat anytime soon," Tao joked but there was a hint of nervous in his voice.

I got off the couch and looked outside where the forest were clouded with white mist. "Something's wrong." I felt a weird sensation flowing through the air but something was blocking me from detecting it.

"Dammit!" I slammed my hand on the table, barely containing my frustration.

"Look, we don't know what's going on and we won't be finding out by standing around here." Said Tao as he did a sideway glance at me.

Jaehee sighed which caught my attention. "Tao's right. Standing around here won't do us any good. I say we go look for them."

"And look where? It's a mist fiesta out there, one encounter with the vampires and we're done for."

"Can't you guys use your super vision or something?" Asked Jaehee as she tilted her head a little to the side. 

Darn it, she's so cute.

"We have a great sense of smell, sure, but we don't have the eyes of a hawk. These mists are like our weaknesses." Tao responded, his arms tightly crossed against his chest.

That only made her more worried. "So what are we gonna do? Are we really just gonna sit around here and do nothing?"

"No, we're not," I put a hand on my chest to calm down and compose myself. Freaking out now won't do us any good. "We're going to find Suho and the others."

Tao replied almost immediately, "But we don't know where they went, I can't even smell them because the mist is blocking their scent."

"Then we improvised."

"What do you mean?" Asked Jaehee.

"Tao, your sense of smell is greater than any of us, you'll have to use that ability to lead us to Suho."

"But I told you the mist is blocking their scent..."

"That's where Jaehee comes along," I looked over at Jaehee who had a doubtful expression. "Jaehee's specialty is her sharp claws."

"....My claws?

I nodded. "If you channel your energy into your claws, you can cut into almost anything. You can even slice these mists into thin air, allowing us to get a clear view of the path."

Her eyes grew wider, "Seriously?! I can do that?"

"Yes, but it'll only take a few seconds before the mists close in on us again so we have to move fast. That's where I come in. My special ability is speed, you know I'm faster any of you, so while Jaehee clears us a path, I'll get us to where the guys are with both of you riding on me."

There was a moment of silence before Tao shared his opinion, "That's actually...not a bad idea."

"I agree." said Jaehee.

"So are we ready to do this? We're not sure what awaits us ahead once we get out of here."

"We're ready." Said Tao.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Jaehee sighed nervously, I rested a hand on her shoulder to calm her nerves, "We'll be fine. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." I smiled and she smiled back with a small nod.

I moved my hand back to my side and looked to the front door, a mixed feeling playing inside my chest. "Let's go."

(Meanwhile, at the motel....)

Kai's Pov

"Ugh!" Baekhyun groaned as he was thrown to the ground, blood splattered out of his right arm.

"Baekhyun!" I rushed to his side, examining the wound.

We thought we could take them on but we were totally outnumbered. Without Luhan and the others here, there was no way we could defeat them.

I bit my lower lip, thinking about the life or dead situation we were in.

"Hyung, I don't like this..." Sehun whispered in nervous breath.

"I-" right as I was about to respond, I was cut of by a familiar voice. 

"Hey! Six against three? That don't seem fair. I hope you don't mind, I bought a couple of friends with me."

I turned my head and saw Suho standing there and the other guys just standing a few feet behind him, I also noticed Chen who had his arms around Xiumin and Lay, he looked terrible.

What the hell happened to him?!

"Suho hyung!" Sehun scrambled to his feet, a huge grin plastered on his face, D.O smiled in delight too.

Kris appeared next to Suho and gave us a small wave. "Yo, sorry to keep you guys waiting."

"We had to take care of a small problem," Xiumin brought his arm up and stuck out his thumb, "but it's all taken care of."

"You guys really have an impeccable timing," D.O sighed in relieved.

Suho laughed, but not until he saw Baekhyun clenching to dear wound on his arm. His eyes suddenly changed as he glared at the vampires. For a minute, I forgot they were even there. 

"How dare you hurt my babies, I'll rip you to pieces!" Suho had turned into his beast form, and the others transformed too, following his lead.

Xiumin turned to Sehun, "Sehun, can you bring Chen inside?" Sehun quickly ran to his aid, helping Chen into the motel before coming back out.

"Let's kill them all." Kris commanded, a sign that things were about to get ugly.

Chen's rescue story:

In the underground passage, Chen was chained up, his feet was dangling in the air, and he wasn't moving. Suho and the guys thought he was dead until a vampire walked into the room from a different door and poured a bucket of water on Chen, waking him up almost immediately.

Chen had bruises on his face and his body, it was obvious that he was tortured and the members didn't like that at all. Suho, Kris and Chanyeol threw themselves onto the vampire, ripping him apart before moving on to the other vampires who went to check the commotion.

The other members were trying to free Chen from the chains that were ripping his flesh apart. They wasted no time in getting Chen out of there, the obstacles along the way was no easy tasks as there were several vampires blocking their path, but being a strong group, they easily defeated the vampires without breaking a single sweat. 

And that was how the members were able to get to Kai, Baekhyun, D.O and Sehun on time.
