(Ten years later)
Jaklyn wiped her brow. She had been bent over a stuborn engine for nearly two hours. She huffed and turned around for a break whrn she saw her. As the skylight broke fron the heavy snow, jak dove to the side.
"You really need to stop comeing so close to leaving with me."
Jak chuckled and took death's hand.
"I love you too. Any other reason for this visit than to harvest my soul?"
Dee stuck her toung out at jak as they moved around the car to the workbench.
"Ya, things have been really quiet lately." Dee hugged jak from behind wile the taller worked "A cancer patent in Chicago and a stranded astronaut over the last cople days. But other than that, its been quiet. I was a bit distressed when i felt your spirit close to my doorstep... Again."
Jaklyn's smile dimmed a bit. "Alright, i guess i do need to be a little more precautious." They stood in silence as jaklyn worked on the malfunctioning parts. A chill blew in threw the broken skylight. Wile dee wasn't affected by the cold she knew jak was much more susceptible to the cold. Dee braught he wings up and wraped them around her human. Jak chuckled.
"Ya know, at this rate someone might think we're girlfriends."
Dee grinned into jak's back.
"Maybe those boys will finaly leave you alone."
Jak froze. "How did you know about my problems with alex and his gang?"
Dee full out laughed.
Because evry time he goes up to you, one of my co workers calls and says," she puffed out her chest to imitate him," this idiot is taunting a future assassin again and we are done trying to protect him!! Tell your girlfriend to do it now or never!!"
Jaklyn bust out laughing at Dee's impression of Gidion, one of the gaurdian angels, and Death happily joined in. After their bouts of laughter wore off, the girls sat in cofortable silence, each in their own minds. Jak was the first to break the silence. "Death?"
"Hmm?"
"I don't think I've asked you this yet but... What do you remember?"
