Eridan changed after that little meeting I had with him last month. He started to shunt everyone out, and looked more depressed. Whenever he saw me, he looked at me with a sad puppy-dog look. I felt really bad that he had to go though this, but it was his fault in the first place. He kept begging me to take him back, but I kept saying no to keep him away from me. What happened the next day was going to change my life.
The next day, I sat down in my regular seat on the other side of the room, when a new kid walked in. This kid looked mean, so I decided to stay off his bad side. "Everyone, this is Karkat Vantas. He will need a guide around the school, of course..." Everyone, excluding Eridan, started screaming, "Pick me! Pick me!" She held up her finger again, and the room fell silent. "Since she is going to be the only mature one around here, _________ will guide Karkat." I blushed. Why does she always pick me? I thought when I walked up to the front of the room. Everyone was glaring at me, as per usual.
Hey, this happens all the time whenever a new kid comes in. They get jealous whenever I had to lead a guy somewhere. Wait, was the teacher just trying to help me make more friends? The very thought made me shiver.
He never talked much, I guess he was really shy. "So, where do you come from?" I ask. He just looked at me, not answering. I tried again. 'What's your favorite genre of movies?" Again, no answer. He turned around this time, and suddenly whispered, "Keep walking." I look behind me, and Eridan started to walk towards me. I glared at him, but he kept coming closer. I started to speed up, and he sped up with me. Before I knew it, he was right next to me. "What do you want, Eridan?" "I wwanted to ask you somefin..." he started. "Look, can't you see she doesn't like you?! Just go away, Eridan!" Karkat said, shocking me. I never knew he talked like that; he was always so quiet. Karkat turned to me, and said, "Let's leave this area and go to PE. He's always this desperate." We walked away, but he still followed. He was on my last nerve, I wanted him to stop following me. I got so mad, I turned around, and punched Eridan right in the kisser!
... Is what I wanted to do. I started to run, Karkat running along with me. We were faster than Eridan, and we made it into the gym.
