Rick's POV
--------------------------I was staring out the car window, and the sun hadn't even came out yet. It was gloomy honestly and depressing.
I heard a car horn honk behind snapping me out of my thoughts, signaling me that I need to move. Today feels like any other day though the same shit over and over again: wake up tired as hell, eat some type of chocolate cereal with coffee, brush my teeth, get dressed, go to work, come home sometimes later than usual, eat a microwave meal, take a shower, go to bed just to toss and turn all night and barley sleep. I repeat this everyday, nothing new.
If i'm being honest it often makes me contemplate life. Whats the point of living if you've already done the same things you'll probably do the rest of your life? Just so you can do it a thousand plus more times?
Finally, I arrive at work which used to shake up my day, but lately nothing has got my adrenaline pumping.
"Hi Rick!" Gabriel 's voice boomed when I walked through the door.
"Hi Gabriel." I said flatly to the man with the jet lack hair and freshly shaved face.
"Damn Rick you're no fun... Bye the way, I thought I said to call me Gabe." I walked past him with a groan.
I just went to my desk and heard him grumble something before giving up. Sometimes it was semi amusing whenever the lawyer came to the station.
"Rick!" I rushed to my captains office, after quickly recognizing the voice.
"Yes sir?" My voice came out gruff and tired as usual.
"I need you to go keep speed watch on Hwy 69."
"But sir, that road has little to no traffic."
"It doesn't matter! Now get your ass out of here."
"Well this should be fun." I said sarcastically on my way out.
-------------------------------------
Six hours later. "Fuck Me!" I yelled, out of boredom from sitting in my car.
As if someone heard me there was a call down the road from me. A police chase there was two cars, and the men were believed to be armed.
I flipped on my sirens and started that way. Me and some more officers got in front of them laying down barbed wire, and setting up a road block to protect the non-exsistent pedestrians.
After a few minutes we heard the sirens and then saw them. They didn't slow down, not even when my fellow officers behind them did.
They hit the barbed wire one after the other and swerved over onto the side of the road. Almost immediately they got out and started shooting, so we shot back. When we finally thought we were done we slacked a little, and thats when another man popped out of no where and aimed a gun at our youngest deputy. I pushed him out of the way right in time but in return got shot myself.
The pain was violently pulsing from the wound to the rest of my body and my vision was dimming. I was tired so tired, and I saw my boy, my 6 year old son Carl. His mouth moved but nothing ever came out.
'Guess that means i'm dying.' I thought before I slipped under.

This has been sitting as a draft for years now so I thought I'd continue with it.
