I'm sorry if I made this beginning too...emotional.......sorry.... Enjoy the story.
'Farewell, little brother'
On any other moonless night, Inuyasha could be found sitting up against a tree, waiting for his demon features to reappear. But this night was different. This night, Inuyasha could be found laying in a puddle of his own blood, bleeding to death by a large chest wound created by another of Naraku's incarnations. As Inuyasha struggled for his life, Sesshomaru, sitting in a nearby tree, came to the conclusion that Inuyasha would not make it through the night. He knew he hadn't been a role model to the younger pup, and he wasn't always there for him. He decided the least he could do was say goodbye. He jumped down from his perch and slowly touched the ground near Inuyasha. He kneeled down next to him and rolled him on his side. He looked into his eyes, so full of fear, he felt he should try to ease Inuyasha's pain.
"Inuyasha," Sesshomaru spoke.
Inuyasha tried to speak but his lungs were now filled with blood, so he just nodded and looked into Sesshomaru's eyes.
"I want to say...I want to tell you..." Sesshomaru sighed, he didn't know how to say all the things that were on his mind. He took a minnute to look deep inside of him, deep in his heart, something he rarely ever did. He finally found what he had been needing to say for over fifty years.
"Inuyasha, this is hard for me to do, but it needs to be done." Sesshomaru sighed and looked away from Inuyasha. He couldn't look at him while saying it, it was too emotional.
"Looking back at me I see that I never really got it right. I never stopped to think of you." Inuyasha, realizing what Sesshomaru was doing, fought back tears. He had never seen his brother like this.
"What I really meant to say, is I'm sorry for the way I am. I never meant to be so cold. To you, I'm sorry about all the lies. Maybe in a different light, you could see me stand on my own again, because now I can't see." Sesshomaru was now the one fighting back the tears. He took one more deep breath, and tried to finish without the tears spilling out of his eyes.
"I never really wanted you to see the screwed up side of me that I keep locked inside of me so deep, it always seems to get to me. I never really wanted you to go, so many things you should have known. I guess for me, just know, I never meant to be so cold."
Tears now fell freely from Inuyasha's eyes as he struggled to hang on to life.
"Goodbye Inuyasha." Sesshomaru whispered before getting up to leave. He didn't want to be there when Inuyasha died.
"Wait," Inuyasha gasped.
Sesshomaru turned around and sat back down next to Inuyasha. Inuyasha tried to speak again, but couldn't get the words out. He was dying didn't want to be alone, he wanted Sesshomaru to stay with him. And somehow, Sess understood. He moved closer to Inuyasha as he breathed his last few, prescious breaths.
Inuyasha gasped hard, a sure sign that he would soon be gone. Sesshomaru put his arm around his younger brother.
"I love you Sesshomaru," Inuyasha gasped with his last breath.
The tears streamed out of Sesshomaru's eyes as he saw the death seekers surround his brothers body. There was nothing he could do, tensaiga had been broken by the same incarnation that killed his brother.
Sesshomaru stood up and carried his brother's body back to his friends, he figured it was the least he could do.
"Good-bye dear brother," he whispered to Inuyasha's dead, lifeless body. Sesshomaru walked off into the distance, carrying Inuyasha back to the the people who loved him. Or that what they all thought....
