Powerful

Chapter One

       Darkness is how it all began for me. All I could see was darkness. All I could feel was darkness. Then something happened. Something clicked in me and I felt life. I saw light. I had no idea what was happening. All I knew was that my name was Eliza Ross, I was a 17 year old girl, and that I was floating in darkness with no idea on how I got there or any memories before that.

I tried to yell and move around but nothing worked. So I just let the darkness and the light move me. I can't explain the feeling it gave me...just floating. I got closer and closer to the light. Light consumed me and all around me was lightness. I didn't feel afraid or anything, I was just in awe.

Darkness took over once again but this time I could hear things. It sounded like waves and I also felt sand underneath me. A breeze came and I could smell the ocean. I opened my eyes and I saw a big blue sky. I got up and dusted the sand off me. I looked around and started to panic.

I was on an island. I tried to remember how I got here and why I was there and all that but my memory was blank. I knew basic things in life but I didn't have any memories of family, friends, where I lived, and all that personal stuff. I was hungry, thirsty, tired, scared, and confused. I didn't want to leave the beach. I had no way of knowing what was on this island.

Soon my stomach got the best of me and I started to walk in the forest. I looked around and was shocked. The plants around me were beautiful but strange. Some glowed and some changed colors. The trees look like big ostriches, the trunk even looked like legs of ostriches. It looked like I stepped into a wonderland.

I saw something that had eight eyes for crying out loud!
Where am I? Is this a dream? I thought.
I remained still and just watched. I was afraid that if I moved the strange creatures would come and attack me. I slowly backed away back to where I came from and I was careful where I stepped since there were also tiny creatures underneath me.

When I was back on the beach I sat there for a second just contemplating what I just saw.
Why am I here? How did I get here? Where am I? Why don't I remember anything? Questions popped in my head like millions of ants crawling around trying to find answers. But soon my stomach started growling again and the first thing I thought was that I was going to die here.
Stop Eliza! You're not going to die here. Just think. Be smart. I thought.
I decided to go back in the jungle and look around again and get my bearings.

I walked and try to think but hunger prevented that happening. I kept walking and I soon stumbled upon a little river. I drank the water without even thinking. It was nice and cool. It quenched my thirst. I splashed my face with water and I splashed some on my legs and arms.

While I was doing that I noticed a odd looking rabbit. I was too out of it to stop what I was doing. My feet started running towards the strange rabbit and was about to pounce on it. When suddenly it grew. It grew as high as the trees and I froze. Too shock and scared to move the creature looked at me with a satisfying look.

I just stood there. Afraid. It soon turned around and went back to its original shape and hopped away.
So much for that plan, I thought.
When the creature left I felt tired. I guess I used up most of my energy running. I felt weak and helpless.
"Please... anyone... help..." I whispered, knowing no one would here it. My eyes started to drop and I fell on the ground.

Darkness consumed me again. But this time I was dreaming. Or was it a memory? I couldn't tell. In the vision a girl was walking on a sidewalk in a little neighborhood. She looked happy... content with life. She looked familiar to me but I don't know. The vision was a little blurry for me.

The girl kept walking until someone came up behind her and shoved her to the ground.
"Oh no, looks like the little freak fell."
It was a girl with light brown hair, pale skin, and sharp blue eyes.
"Leave me alone!" Yelled the girl who fell down.
"Awww, don't be such a buzz kill," said the girl who shoved the other girl down.
The girl who fell was now yelling back to leave her alone and bug off but the other girl wouldn't listen.
"No one cares what you think anyway, your a freak with freaky parents!" The girl said with the light brown hair. "You're a nobody and a loser. Who would ever care about you?"

The girl who fell looked like she was about to cry. Then suddenly her eyes which were a bright green color now turned red. Dark red, like the color of blood. She pounced on the girl with brown hair and started punching her and punching her until the girl was dead. I was terrified at what I was watching.

The girl's red eyes turned purple and touched the other girl's forehead. Her eyes turned back to the normal bright green. It looked like no one notice what the girl did. Like she freeze time somehow and disappeared. The girl she left behind looked terrible. She had bruises everywhere. Than all of a sudden the girl with the light brown hair stood up and said something but I couldn't hear it.

Then she screamed and I came back to consciousness.
