Nina stares at the light gray wall, like how a robot would when out of order. All reactions were gone. Spacing out as if she was a astronought floating in space, excepting there fate. Not thinking a thing.

A loud chirping noise with water in the background inturupted her spacing.

"What the-" She says outloud as she jumped from the new noise.

Nina pulls out the rectangular object from her shorts pocket. Her pale hands grab around the phone as she looks at the notification, reading:

'First day of the job!!! 10:20.' As Nina set the night before but totally forgot.

Awh shit. Is all she can think and looks at the time. 9:50, and it takes 15 minutes to drive.

"I'm so gonna be late." She mumbles and she jumps out of the wobbly chair, startling poor Charles.

Her feet race down her skinny hall, turns a right and faces her door. Entering it, light floods the room once again. She hurries across her room to get dressed but gets stopped as her foot catches on a boxed item and her face meets with the corner of the bed as she lets out a small yelp before catching herself.

As she gets her balance back and spins on her heels to meet what she tripped on. Her music speaker. How clumsy can she be? She practically face palms herself. Totally forgot to pick up up when she woke up. Nina shakes her head and starts getting dresser before she's late. On the first day of the job! What a bad impression.

She faces her closet and slides both of the wooden doors reveling a small closet full of clothes here and there.

She grabs a dark-ish gray, medium sleeved shirt and a light blue jeans covering her whole legs. A requirement for her job. Contrition for building houses. Have you ever seen a girl do that job? Nina gleets proudly to herself. After years of collage she finally got excepted.

She pulls a neon orange reflection thin jacket over her shirt and a construction hat in her hand is hurries her way out. Grabbing the chipped golden paint of the knot.

"Bye Kayla! See you tonight." She yells and runs out the door without waiting for a response.

Fast speeding to her normal cheep-cheepest she could find cheviot and climes in.

The roads around her give a almost claustrophobic feel with all the people out and about. But it also makes her feel not as alone. She keeps those confusing thoughts in her head till she reaches her destination.

Nina pushes on her delicate brakes to come to a stop. She parks the car and hops out, and is faced with a apartment under construction. She sees a man close to her. Dirty blonde hair under the constructive hat and blue eyes greet her. His pearl white teeth smile and she smiles back.

"Hello!" The man says, "I'm Nathan and I'll be showing you around today and how things work." He states and pulls his hand out.

"Good to know! I'm Nina. Nice to meet you." She says, returning the hand shake, as Nathan shakes with excitement. I release my grip and so does he.

"Follow me!" Nathan states, as I do what he says. I follow him around as he shows me one of the sides of the building they are working on.

As we walk around, all of the men are staring at Nina and Nathan. Her curiosity wonders why. Before she can ask, Nathan speaks up.

"So." Nathan says as he stops walking, "this is the main part we are working on."

Many wooden pieces are scattered about. Same as nails, hammers, screwdrivers, table saws. And just wow. So much going on. Nina looks around, taking in the view. Even though it's not that pretty.

"So who helped you build?" He asked.

"Oh, well my dad did."

"Oh! Nice. Did?" Nathan dangerously askes.

"Well...he's not with us anymore." Ninas voice gets quiet.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry for your loss." He says, regretting asking.

"No no. It's fine. Totally fine. Ask away!" Nina says, pushing the topic of her dad away.

"We will start you off easy." Nathan states. "I don't know much about your interview. But I'm guessing you know a lot about building things?"

"Yessire. Took collage and helped build a few houses my self before trying to get a full time job."

"Good! That's great. Well let's see...to check you know what you really are doing we gonna have a pop quiz!" He says with a grin.

"Oh yayy." Nina say sheepishly.

"Ey, it's not that bad." He says as he nudges my shoulder.

He seems light spirited and not serious. Nina likes that about him. We need more people like that, she thinks as she listens to boy next to her.

"Alright!" He exclames. "Lets start off easy. What are the basic needs to build a house?"

"Oo! Oo!" Nina shouts a bit like how a middle schooler would raise there hand when the teacher asked a question. "Okie let's see...you'll need a table saw, air compresser, circular saw, jigsaw, porter cable, drill, stable gun, sawzall," Nina takes a deep breath, "Oh and-"

"Okay okay!" Nathan chuckles. "I think you got the gizt."

The excited girl nods her head in agreement.

"Well cause it's your first day on the job, we will let you do something easy." He takes a slight pause. "You'll control the under construction traffic."

Suddenly, Ninas excitement and wide smile drops.

"You gotta be kidding me."

In those seconds Nathan erupts in laughter. "I'm just messing with you! You should of seen your face!" He says, wheezing. "It looked like you were about to murder me!"

As Nathan laughter dies down as Nina relizes and cracks up herself.

"Okay, okay. What will I be doing?" Nina asks.

"Okay, what you will be doing is helping drill in pieces of wood together. You see that pile?" He waits till the girl looks over and continues. "I left a paper saying the mesurments needed and a circular saw, drill and cut pieces needed to fit the measurements needed. Okay?"

"Okay! Sounds good. Thank you Nathan."

"Of course. See you around!" He states and walks off to the other side of the building.

The whole time Nina worked, it always felt like people were watching her. All she could do was shrug it off and continue.

As hours passed, it was like the dream from earlier never happened.

ina returned back to her car and her muscles felt sore the whole drive home. But she was happy with this new job. Her feet felt like dancing with this dream she finally acomplished.

Her car pulled up in front of the house. The large windows shined, hiding the hoof of the car, brining a light making Nina squint her eyes as she got out of the car. The dark blue house stood there, like it's waiting for her to come in. Feels like all her worries are gone.

Home sweet home.
