Sans remained in his room for a further two days after Papyrus spoke to him. He knew his brother was right, but he didn't want to end up ruining the newly formed relationship.

His mind was like the swirling tornado behind his door, racing in circles as he struggled to figure out how to approach Grillby about his true feelings. He loved Grillby, he couldn't deny that, but he loated the secrecy.

Monsters were already starting to talk as they had noticed Sans leaving Grillby's place in the early mornings, but Grillby tried his utmost hardest to deny or explain away any questions the monsters had. The last thing he desired was rumours swimming around while his daughter returned from school for some holidays.

-

Grillby had stayed away from Sans during those two days, knowing that something was troubling him. He cared about the little skeleton but didn't want to smother him, as they had spent the past couple of nights in an intimate state.

Grillby decided to spend some time with his daughter, who had managed to get some time off of school. He started to prepare a meal for them both, looking forward to the night ahead.

Fuku sat quietly at the kitchen table as she watched her father glide gracefully around the kitchen, humming happily to himself as he cooked. She had a burning question to ask, but couldn't bring herself to ruin her father's mood.

It didn't take long for Grillby to get a steak dinner cooked and served. His happy mood continued as the chitter chatter filled the room, his glow seemed to grow as it had been so long since he last conversed with Fuku.

Fuku couldn't hold her question any longer. She set her fork down and leaned on the table, offering Grillby a small smile. "So I heard your seeing someone." She said out right, curiosity and excitement playing on her voice.

Grillby almost choked on his drink but swiftly gathered himself. He coughed into his fist, clearly taken aback by the question. "What are you talking about?"

"I was just talking to some monsters earlier and they were saying you might be seeing someone." She replied innocently, a rather warm smile spreading across her face.

"Don't be ridiculous." Grillby grunted simply as he pushed the food on his plate with a fork. His heart began to race as he struggled to remain calm, hoping for a change in subject.

"Why am I being ridiculous?" Fuku snorted, leaning back in her chair as she studied her father. "C'mon Dad...is it really that bad if your seeing someone?"

"Yes...Yes it is." Grillby replied after an uncomfortable silence. "Please Fuku, I don't want to-"

"I know it's Sans." Fuku suddenly announced with an odd sense of pride. "So whys it bad that your seeing him?" She questioned furthermore, not allowing her father to wriggle out of the subject so easily.

Grillby parted his lips to respond but slowly closed them, this action repeated for a moment, causing him to look like a fish before finally finding his voice. "Because...because monsters are starting to talk...the rumours are starting to spiral...just like when your mother left."

"You're... you're not serious...please tell me you're not serious." The young fire elemental suddenly laughed, earning a expression equal in confusion and annoyance. "The rumours were about HER when she left, not you. And these 'rumours' about you and Sans are more questions than anything...monsters wanna know if your happy together. If you'll let them know if it's official and all that stufr...what happened with mom was different." She explained, her bright eyes trained upon her flustered father.

"If you love him then what's the problem? Why should you care what others think as long as your both happy?" She pressed, yearning for a response from her father.

Grillby sat back in his chair, buring eyes lowered as he juggled his thoughts and feelings. How could be argue with his daughters sound statement?

He had been so engulfed in the regrets of the past that he didn't even consider what the future could hold...what it could offer him and Sans.
