Musically Attracted

The Job

      Jin's POV:
    "Here they come" manager Sejin said. I stood there looking at a group of instrumentalists coming in. As they line up, I clear my throat and say,"Hello, my name is Kim Seokjin, you can call me Jin." As if they practiced together they say at the same time "It is nice to meet you Mr. Jin, it is our pleasure to be working with you.""Please you do not need to be so formal with me, just call me Jin." I say not used anyone calling me Mr. Jin."Of course Mr. Jin."they say. I sigh, it must've been manager Sejin who told them to be formal with me.
       "Jin will now take a look at your instrumental skills. First is, Kang Dae, he will be playing playing the violin."manager Sejin says to me. I nod and a young man walks up violin and bow in hand. He places the violin on his left shoulder and placed the bow on the strings. Then he starts playing a soft melody. The soft tune of the notes to my new solo song "Awake" fills the room. Once he finishes, we all clap for him and returns to his spot.
          "Next is Ae Cha, she will play the cello. Please begin."manager Sejin says. A tall girl comes forward with a chair and sets up her cello. She starts playing and a deep melody fills my ears. It takes a longer time for her to finish since her version of my solo song is a acoustic version. Once she finishes, we all clap and she returns to her spot.
           "Next is Hana Maru, she will play the piano. Please begin."manager Sejin says. They bring in the provided piano and she walks to the piano looking confident. Then she sits down and she starts to practice a few keys and then she works her magic and glides her fingers through the keys. Once again the room is filled with my solo song. Once she finishes we all clap and she grins.
            "Next is Bon Hwa, he will also be playing the cello. Please come forward."manager Sejin says. A man comes forward and sets up his cello just like how Ae Cha did. This time his version of my song is just the regular pace. Once he finishes we all clap and he returns to where he came from.
             "Next one is Dae Jung, he will play the drums."manager Sejin says. They bring in the provided drum set and Dae Jung comes forward. He sits down and doesn't hesitate to start. At first, the melody is difficult to hear however, it's understandable considering it is the drums. After Dae Jung finishes manager Sejin calls the last person.
               "Lastly, Eun Sun Gi, she will play the violin. Please come forward."manager says. She steps up and without hesitating she plays my solo song and makes her way through it in no time. Her skills are very impressive, all of their skills are impressive. We clap for the last time after she is done."Thank you for coming, it is greatly appreciated."me and manager Sejin say. They also thank us back and are told when the rehearsal is before they are dismissed.
               As I walk out the door, I see a familiar face. It's Ae Sook, my good friend. She is the daughter of a friend of my parents so we grew up together. She loops her arm on mine and says,"Hey you look tired, but it's okay. We'll be eating now anyways." Ahh... I totally forgot about our dinner meet-up  I thought to myself. But I smile anyways and ask,"Of course, where do you want to eat?""I'm fine wherever you take me."she says."Then I'll reserve two seats at BTL Steak, sound good?"I ask."Sounds good." She says. I reach for my phone in pockets only to find nothing there.
               "Ae Sook-ah, I forgot my phone in the studio. Wait here, I'll go get it." I say walking back."Okay then, hurry up though."she says."I will!" I say running back. I search the studio and find my phone in the studio conference table. As I was about to walk out the door, I hear a slight melody. That's weird, nobody should be here at this time. I walk towards the melody into a room. It's a girl playing "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven on her violin. The music plays from her phone and she uses her violin to harmonize with it. That's when I realize it's same girl who manager Sejin hired for my solo. She then notices me and says,"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stay here at a time like this! It's just I wanted to practice and I had nowhere to go and this was the only place I could think of. I'm so sorry!"she says nervously."Calm down, there's nothing to be sorry about. You could've just asked."I say walking towards her."You can come anytime to practice, you don't need permission as long you have mine." I say."Th...thank you."she says looking up at me."It was very beautiful, your skills are impressive." I say patting her on the shoulder."How can I ever repay you?"she asks."Hmmm...you could treat me to dinner." I say."I'm sorry, I don't have the money to treat you to dinner. You're gonna have to ask for something else." She says shaking her head."Hmmm...then do you know how to cook?"I ask."I do."she says confused."Well then, I have been wanting to eat Korean Barbecue these days. How about you make me Korean Barbecue while I provide ingredients for you?" I suggest."I have cooked Korean Barbecue once, so I do have some sort of experience...okay then, I'll cook Korean Barbecue."she says nodding."Give me your phone." I say. She hands me a small flip phone. I haven't seen these since I was a kid! I punch in my number and add it to her contact list. I hand her the phone and say,"Call me when you've set a date for it."Then I pat her shoulder again and say "Fighting!" Then I hear some noise behind me so I turn around and I see Ae Sook at the doorway of the room and I hear her say,"Jin?"
