Chapter One: A premonition.

Dalili ya mvua ni mawingu.” -Swahili proverb. [Trans:The occurrence of rain is signified by rain clouds]

I could still remember her screaming when they pulled her hair. I remember because I was their, joining in. I also remember her shedding her tears while screaming my name, “Andy! Help me! Andy it hurts! Andy stop!” I hated the way she said my name. I hated the way she looked at me with those Grey eyes that held only disappointment then shock when I pushed her off the cliff. I could still hear her shrieks and screams die down once her body slammed hard at the bottom of the quarry. I was a monster. Her ghostly laughs erupted all around me as the scenario quickly shifted to a burning house. Her eight year old mangled body looking down on my paralyzed form with a crooked grin while smoke filled in the room and the temperature rose. “ You killed me Andy. You did this to me. And now its your turn.” I couldn't breathe, her tiny hand was covered in blood as she touched my face, my burning face. It was my blood. I screamed as everything turned a scary shade of red.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with my step-brother,Danny. He looked concerned and sat next to me, his hand on my shoulder. “ Another nightmare?” He asked. I nodded before bringing my hand to my face. I was sweating. That dream was too vivid, it was almost too real. He handed me a cloth and cocked his head to the left. “ Want to talk about it?” I shook my head. How can I explain that sort of dream to my brother? He frowned slightly. “ I don't get it. I thought these sort of dreams stopped after...”, he trailed off. No one spoke of that incident. It was like a taboo in our family. The day Megan Frost went missing. I looked at my alarm clock. School was in a few hours. “ I'm fine Danny. I'll be okay. Go back to sleep.” He stood, kissed me on the forehead and left my room after a moment of hesitation. I sighed after he left.

I turned and went back to sleep. I'm Andrea Parker, it was going to take more than a damn nightmare to throw me off my game.

Andrea's Pov

“ Hey babe.” I turned and smiled to the owner of that voice. Chase Evans. My extremely hot long-term boyfriend. “ Baby,” I purred smoothly and proceeded to kiss him which then turned out to be a fully fledged makeout session on the hood of his car. “Ugh, could you two find a room?” I broke from the kiss and laughed at my best friend's comment. I could see her standing with her hands on her hips and her eyebrow raised not amused. She linked her left arm to my right one and practically dragged me away from Chase. “ A weekend wasn't enough time for you to ignore me? Now I have to watch the two of you suck face at school? Hell no.” Cherry hissed. I snickered at her remark. Trust my best friend to turn this into a weird love triangle. “ Well,” I began, “ I think I still need more time to suck face.” She gave me a bewildered look before feigning a hurt look as she put her hand over her heart, “ You wound me Andrea. You wound me.” We both rushed into homeroom and started to catch up on what she did during her weekend. Which included shopping in New York, partying with hot models and gossiping with the elite of Three Dee Lane. I could see the envious looks thrown our way by the less popular girls in Christoph High. I'm not bragging or anything but I and Cherry rule this school. We were still busy chatting when the teacher walked in. The awkward silence was broken by the clearing of his throat. He looked pointedly at Cherry whose back was facing him. As if on cue she turned and sat properly before giving him a smirk.

“ I trust you all had an interesting weekend,” he started, “ It was long enough for you to finish your assignments.” He looked over at the corner I and Cherry were seated at. Real subtle dude, real subtle. This was going to be a long ass day.

Lunch break was finally here, between the unfinished assignments, pop quizzes and stuck up teachers, I was completely tired. Only an afternoon to go. I glided next to Chase and kissed his cheek, he already had lunch for the two of us and proceeded to slide his arm around my waist before Cherry came bounding towards us. She looked pale, like she'd seen a ghost. She sat down and grabbed my juice box and drained it. I raised an eyebrow questionably. “ What is wrong?” I asked. She shook her head. “ I though I saw a ghost” The entire table burst out laughing. She rolled her eyes and said with an even chilling tone, “I swear, she looked just like you Andrea. Ask Danny if you don't believe me.” I stopped short. “ What do you mean a ghost that looks like me?” Chase sensed the tension and stood up tugging me along until we were out of the cafeteria and on the green school lawns. I could feel my panic attack coming though, he held the sides of my face and looked me in the eye. “ Relax Andy,” his green eyes stared at me intensely. I could feel myself calming down. He was the only one I allowed to call me Andy. Mostly because I couldn't stand the memory of Megan calling me that name before...well, before she died. Chase stared back at me, “ Is it the dreams again?” I nodded. “ What triggered them?” “I don't know, I just started having them about a week ago, each one being more vivid than the last. I'm freaking out.” I sniffed trying to hold the tears at bay. “ Cherry doesn't help with her 'ghostly' statements!” He hugged me and rubbed my back comfortingly. “ It's okay. Megan fell, she knew you tried to save her, she wouldn't hurt you. She loves you and I'm sure wherever she is, she's like your guardian angel.” That made me sob harder into his chest. Chase didn't know the truth. No one did apart from me and Cherry. He doesn't know I pushed Megan off the cliff and I sure as hell know that wherever Megan is right now, she's no guardian angel of mine.
