Ally's POV

When we got to the hospital, Matt dropped me off at the entrance so he could go park. I ran up to the desk and asked the worker where my sister was. I ran to Paige's room, and there was a doctor standing in front of it. I said, "My sister is in there, can I please see her?" He said, "No miss sorry she is doing very bad right now and at the moment, no one is allowed to see her."
I walked over to the chairs, and sat down next to my mom. She was leaning her head on my dads shoulder, and my dad had his arm around her. I asked them, "Why did this have to happen to Paige?" They didn't answer back, they just stared at the wall in silence.
Just then, Matt came through the door and sat next to me. I grabbed his hand and we intertwined fingers. I leaned my head into his chest and cried. I just didn't understand why this had to happen to my sister. He rubbed my back to help comfort me, and we just sat all together in silence. Then the doctor came out, and asked if he could see Paige's family. Me, my mom, & my dad walked over to him.
He told us, "Since the accident, we haven't seen any little bit of improvement. If she doesn't improve by tomorrow, we'll have to unplug her." My mom said, "Well can't you just give her a chance to get healthy again?" The doctor replied, "No, since this accident had the worst effect, she should get at least a little better from the first day. You can come back tomorrow to see how sees doing."
My heart sunk. I knew that Paige probably wouldn't improve, she was nearly dying right now. I went back over to Matt and said, "Lets go back home."
We drove back to my aunts, and since my mom & dad came here, me & Matt were going to sleep in my room. As soon as we got home, I ran up to my room with Matt and closed the door. I turned the lights off and hopped under the covers. Matt joined me and pulled me close to him. He said, "No matter what happens tomorrow Ally, I'll be there for you." Then I kissed him on the cheek and fell asleep in his chest.
~THE NEXT DAY~
I woke up before Matt did. I rushed to put on some clothes to go to the hospital, but I just wore Matt's red Magcon hoodie, jean shorts, and my red Vans. I woke up Matt so he could get dressed. After he did, he drove us to the hospital. I ran up to Paige's doctor that we talked to yesterday, and I asked him, "Has Paige gotten any better?" And he replied, "Unfortunately no. We will give her 2 more hours to improve the tiniest bit, or we are going to have to unplug her."
I rushed over to Matt and told him. I cried into his chest, and he put his arms around me. One whispered in my ear, "Lets stay here until we know what they're doing with her."
A few hours passed by, and the doctor came out. He said, "Paige hasn't improved, so nows the time to say your final goodbyes." I tried not to cry because this was the last time I was seeing Paige.
I opened the door to her room, and I saw her laying on the bed, her eyes closed. I looked at her heart rate, seeing almost a straight line. I said, "Paige, I know you probably can't hear me, but you were the best sister anyone could ever have. You were always there when I needed someone, and you were always there to comfort & support me. I could go on with an endless list of the things you've done for me, but I'll just conclude it right here. I love you so much Paige, and I will miss you so much. Goodbye." And with that a gave her a big hug and walked out of the room.
Since my mom & dad had already visited her, the doctor went in to unplug her. I wanted to be there holding her hand, so I went back into the room. Matt followed, to be there for me. I held Paige's hand, and Matt held my other, and the doctor reached to grab the chord. I was already in tears, and right before he tugged the chord, Paige gasped, "I love you Ally." I felt her hand slowly become cold, and I sobbed onto her. I couldn't believe I just watched my sister die right in front of me.
