-Simon-

I decided to go to the bar after work because I lost my mom due to a heart attack and my laptop that had all my work and studies on it got stolen from a guy at work. I needed to turn in my late work that I didn't get to turn in last Friday because I was sick for 2 days. The information about a patient's condition I was studying was on that laptop too. Because of that, I had to start over all my personal research on that patient.

Going to the bar, I sat down and ordered just a glass of water. About 5 minutes pass by and I had about 3 glasses of water. I was starting to drink my 4th glass but I was hit in the back by a girl. "Sorry!" She said. My drink decided to spill all over my coat and jeans. My tie was soaked. I stood up from the bar stool and grabbed the towel the bar tender gave me. While wiping the water off my clothes I look at the girl. Brown, short messy hair, blue eyes, she wore a baggy blue hoodie and regular jeans. She looked to be in her 20's. "Dear god I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going." She grabbed the towel out my hand and started to wipe the water off my coat. I laugh a little. "It's ok, it's ok. It's just water." I say grabbing the towel back. I wipe the water off the table and then the stool. "I'm Victoria by the way." She said grabbing the glass I dropped on the floor. I push the stool back in it's place and dry my hand with the towel I used to clean the wet stool. "Hi Victoria, I'm Simon." I reach my now dry hand out and shake her hand.

She ruffles her hair before sitting in the stool next to me. Her hair kept bothering me. I wondered if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed or she just had a rough day. With that, i decided to ask her. "Sorry if I sound rude but may I ask what happen to your hair?" She just laughs and smiles. "I had to deal with my kids this morning which in return is freaking stress." I sigh and agree even though I never had kids but i can imagine the struggles. "Want anything to drink?" I ask her. "Nah, I'm fine." I tilt my head. "You sure, not even just a glass of water?" She laughs at the memory of my water spilling everywhere. "I guess I can go for a water." I smile, call over the bar tender, and order a glass water for her.

-Victoria-
I got my water and took a sip of it. Cold, just the way I like my water. Not hot at all. I look over at Simon and see him watching the late night News on the TV. I decided to watch a few minutes of it too.
"Today, at 10:34 p.m. A man was stabbed 7 times in his home down Storm Dr. He was in his late 40's and died later in the hospital due to tremendous loss of blood. Investigators are still looking for clues about why this man was murdered. We will check in later for further information."
Simon looked down and took a sip of his new glass of water. "That was my 2nd to last patient I had before I left today." I could almost see him start to cry. I take another sip of my water before patting him on his back. "It's ok Simon. Not everyone can be saved." He wiped the tears from his eyes and stood up. "I'm going to go to the restroom and clean up." With that, he left to the restroom on the left side of me.
I decided to continue watching the news for a few minutes. About 6 minutes pass and I'm starting to get worried about Simon. I get up and walk over to the restroom and knock on the door. "Simon, you alright? It's been about 7 minutes." No answer.
"You B****!" A guy yelled behind me. I turn around to the sound of tables being shoved to the side and a chair being thrown towards a wall breaking. I see a man who looked to be in his 30's. He had brown, messy, short hair, wore a white t-shirt and regular blue jeans. I couldn't see the shoes he was wearing. He seemed to be throwing objects at a girl in her 20's. She had perfectly straight, blond hair, wore a blue v-neck shirt with a gold necklace, and a matching blue skirt. I can tell you this, she had amazing skin. It shined with every turn she did in the light. Again, I couldn't see her shoes either.
(CRASH) The man broke the table with the lady's head and was now choking her on the ground. I could see her face slowly start turning blue. No one was going to help. Everyone just stood there. "Stop!!!" I yell running straight to the man and pushing him off her. She gasped as he let go of her throat. "Are you alright?" I ask her. She nodded while coughing. "What is this all about?" She held her throat. "I don't know, I don't know this man. I was just walking towards the restroom and he attacked me." She explained. I was still confused but went with it anyway. I look over at the man to see him getting up. The way he stood and the way he tried to get up showed me that he was really drunk. I roll my eyes. Of corse he would be drunk, I feel so stupid. I stand up with confidence and look at him. He started to walk towards me but still wobbling from the alcohol getting to him.
"You need to calm down, you are drunk." He didn't listen, he just continued to walk to me. I soon got scared and backed up a little. He is now in front of me. Ready to grab my throat and start to choke me too. Hands inches away from me. I swear time stopped. I saw a glance at his shoes. Black high converse. It reminded me of my daughter when we went to go shopping. She never wanted to leave me alone with those shoes. Asking me over and over if I could get them for her. "Mom, please can I get these. Everyone at school has them." She begged.  I looked over to see her holding the shoes up high so I can see them. "Not today. I'm here to get your brother some shoes for his field trip next week to the park." She pulled the shoes down in sorrow, started to cry as she put the shoes back on the shelf. I got her brother's shoes and told Lilly, my daughter, to come on. We walked to the register. While checking out the shoes, I see Lilly staring at the converse shoes again. I felt bad for her. "Hey Lilly." She looked at me. "Go get the shoes. I'll get you them." Her face lit up in joy. "Really?" "Yeah, hurry up and get them before the line gets long." I tell her. "Ok, ok, hold on." She jumps up and runs to get the shoes. When she came back, I made sure it was the right size. I put it on the counter and the lady put it in the bag after scanning it. I hand the bag to Lilly that had her shoes in it and grabbed the bag that had Daniel's shoes in it. Giving the money to the lady, she gave me the change and receipt and we walked out the door. On the way to the car Lilly thanked me for getting the shoes for her. I smiled and hugged her. Reaching the car, I unlock the doors and start the car. Lilly is on the other side of the car opening the door. Daniel just got in. I'm in the front seat waiting for Lilly to get in. I look behind me and I see Lilly take one step into the car right before a guy grabbed her and pulled her out the car causing her to drop the bag of shoes. "Lilly!!!!" I yell rushing to get out the car. Daniel runs out the car too. I grab him, and put him back in the car. "Stay there!" I tell him. I run after Lilly who was being put into a white van. "Stop!!" I get to the guy and grab his jacket. He turned around and punched me right across the face. I fell to the floor. He closed the door, got into the drivers seat and started to drive off. I stand up and see the white van already half way down the street turning. I wouldn't be able to chase him. I bust out into tears as I walk back to the car. I look down at the bag that had Lilly's converse in it and take them out. Just the sight if them made me fall to the ground in tears still holding the shoes. Why would a guy kidnap a child at a shoe store? I don't know why. All I know is that I need to find my child and hope she is still alive. I lied to Simon, I wasn't dealing with my kids this morning. I came here to forget about everything. I was to sad to even think about my daughter. I wanted to get drunk to the point I would even forget my name. Lilly was my first child. She was only 10. Daniel was 8. She was my little angel, and now she is gone.
I'm now on the floor choking from the man's grip. Was he drinking with friends or did he come alone? Because not anyone can get drunk that much unless something happen. I start scratching the man's face and arms trying to get his hands off me but I couldn't. I hear the restroom door open. I can barely move my neck to see who it is but I managed to see that it was Simon. "What the f***, get your hands off her!" My face was starting to turn blue and I was slowly starting to pass out. I see Simon rush over pushing anything and anyone that gets in his way. He gets over here and punches the man across the face. He let go of my neck and I gasp, catching my breath. I look over and see Simon having the man in a choke hold. I get dizzy and fall over. The last thing I see is Simon letting go of him and running to me. "Victoria!" He yelled trying to catch me.
