You smile as your father comes into the tent, telling you that it is time to see grandmother for another story. It doesn't take long for your 5 year old self to scramble up and head towards the campfire where both lowbloods and humans gather. You are surrounded by trolls and humans and you sit down cross-legged next to your friend Marcol.
Your grandmother finally exited her grand tent, heading over towards the group of young trolls and humans.
"Ah ,hello younglings" she says warmly, with a wisdom filled voice "Today I will tell you the story of the sea prince. This story took place long long ago, in a land now forgotten"You looked up with large shiny eyes. You have always loved the story of the sea prince, its stunning tale captified you with feelings of magic and wonder.
"There was once a princess, always strung in extravagant gowns and precious jewels. This princess loved the sea, unfortunately she lived nowhere near the sea or the ocean."
"It was the princesses birthday when she was determined to go and finally see the sea. So she ordered the guards to take her and see the ocean. The guards were nervous though as a rumor flowed through the town. These tales said that there was a sea monster in the great blue."
"As the princess was taken by the reluctant guards she was set on seeing the ocean by herself. Surrounded by the quiet piece of the great blue."
"When she arrived at the sea, she quickly shooed the gaurds away and although reluctantly, they left her alone. She quickly jumped into the ocean, swimming so far out you could no longer see the shore."
" The waves suddenly turned violent as a storm quickly approached. The princess frantically tried to make her way back but the waves continued to pull her back in, it was almost certain that she would die."
"But suddenly she felt hands around her waist. The person, who ever it was pulled her back to shore safely, although by that moment she had fainted."
"The princess woke up with no hero to thank. And although she did not remember her fishy savior, she would always catch flashes of a being with a fish like tail and beautiful fins in her dreams."
Your eyes grew to the size of plates as she finished off. Out of everyone, you were clapping the loudest. A smile as big as it was comfortable spread against your face.
Your father laughed from behind you, picking you up and hugging you, washing you over with a feeling of protection.
