Flashback.

,,Guys, it was nice to catch up with you. See you again soon'' said Louise  with a smile as Olivia got up. At the same time Adam had started saying goodbye to his friends Aidan and Dan. Olivia quickly hugged Louise and waited until Adam was ready. Then both headed out of the door of the restaurant they had met to celebrate Aidan, Dan's and Adams last few months at university. Outside she waited for Adam to grab her hand. But he didn't do so. So she grabbed his hand. But he let go again immediately.

Olivia looked at him. ,,Adam, what's wrong?'' They had already walked a few meters when he started talking. ,, I just don't feel like it today, okay?'' ''Huh?! Are you serious?'' ''Did you...'' He interrupted her. ''Olivia, stop it.'' Adam looked at her. She could see his tiredness. ''I..gosh, this is so hard. I cannot do this anymore!'' Olivia started feeling uncomfortable. '' What can't you do anymore?''. ,, I got an offer. Lawson&Coles offered me a job as Junior Laywer in their company'' ,,But this is great, isn't it?'' Olivia answered slowly. ,, Yes, but it is in New york. They want me now. Right after graduation''. ,, What does that mean?'' ,,Look I just don't want long-distance. You know that. I have thought about this for a long time now. '' ,, When did you think you would tell me this. We could have talked about this?'' ,, Oh, come on. You have still got at least another two years to go at uni. This will never work. Do you know how many students receive such an offer? Two or three. '' Olivia could not believe what she was hearing. Did he really want to leave her in London? Break up with her over a damn career? Destroy three years of memories?

He looked at her. A hint of guilt flickered in his eyes. Olivia got angry ,, Are u for real? I thought you loved me? Is this about someone else?'' Adam also started raising his voice. ,, It's not that easy. This is all I ever wanted!'' He treated her like a little child. ,, Oh you tell me Mr. I am so mature! This is ridiculous Adam and you know it yourself. Have you ever thought about how I would feel? My feelings. Me. Are u really willing to leave me for a job in New York?''

,, Olivia. Let me explain..'' She interrupted him. '' Don't even try. For the record. This is you breaking up with me''. ,, Liv, I am sorry'' he tried to grab her hand. ‚'' Screw you'' She could no longer bear having him stand next to her.

She tore off and started running. Faster and faster. She had to get away. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She could feel her lungs burning and as if things weren't already dramatic enough Olivia tripped  and fell to the ground. She cried out loud as her body hit the ground. ‚''Ahh'' she started crying hard when a sharp pain spread through her body. Her hands had started bleeding. This can't be real. This is a joke, she tought. There she sat in the dark, not knowing where she was, desperately trying to understand what had just happened to her.

She could still remember the relief she felt when she heard Emma's reassuring voice on the phone saying that she would immediately come to get her. She had waited for what felt like an eternity when she saw car lights flashing.

Olivia could not remember much of what had happened after that. The only memories that stuck with her was Emma's calm  voice telling her over and over again that she would not leave her, that things would get better. She remembered seeing Emma's face filled with worry, anger and her own pain as she sat there on the passenger's side sobbing quietly.
