Percy POV
The sky was appropriately glum, a light drizzle misting the air. Hmm... I thought, it seems, even the gods are mourning today. It had been almost a year since the rest of the seven fell and I had been left alone with the shattered pieces of my heart.

My feet were heavy as I marched from my apartment to the memorial the gods had provided. It was a marble wall with the names of the fallen demigods etched into it from both the Titan and Giant war. It was only a few blocks from my apartment, but today it felt like much further today. Maybe it was the hot drizzle falling around me, or maybe it was the fact that it was the anniversary, but I trudged on with a heavy heart.

When I reached the gate that led to the memorial, I made my way to the bench that sat across from the wall. I scanned over all of the names, though I knew exact the order and location of every name on the memorial. I skipped over her name at first, knowing as soon as I read it I would only be able to think of her.

As I passed over the names of the seven, I tried to recall their times on Argo II, I really did, but I could only see their burning pyres, smoke carrying them to Elysium.

I loosed a heavy sigh, hardly recognizing my face was now wet with not just the rain, and walked over to the wall, placing my hand on her name.

Annabeth Chase. My Wise Girl.

I let myself lean against the wall and slide to the ground, my strength abandoning me. I sprawled my legs in front of me and tilting my head so that I was staring at the dull gray sky. I allowed a few drops to land on my face before drawing my head back down to stare at the space in front of me, focusing on nothing in particular.

"I know, Wise Girl, it's been awhile. I had to take care of some things with Mom and Paul's investigation. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't there."I pulled my legs up to my chest and rested my head on my arms, that were now crossed over my knees. I tried to catch my breath for a moment, hardly remembering the last time I had actually been able to do that.

"Tell them I said hi. Try not to miss me too much." I tried to smile but ultimately looked rather pathetic.

It came on suddenly. I sensed a presence, still too far to say how many or what they were, but they were closing in around the sanctuary.

For a moment I considered how I might take them out, but quickly realized I didn't care what happened to me. Let them come. Let them end my pain.

Tony POV
I wasn't really sure what business they had bringing in a kid he was barely 20 years old. Apparently he had disappeared last year after causing loads of trouble in school. There was even a manhunt for him at one point.

He reappeared when his Mom and Step-Dad were murdered, the circumstances surrounding the tragedy were strange at best. There was no clear weapon, just mutilated corpses with an unidentifiable metal lining the wounds.

I huffed in frustration as I flipped through the file one last time before we headed out. Fury had asked for all of the Avengers, but Cap thought it would be best for just a few to go in and the others would hang back in case things went sideways. Myself, Clint, and Natasha would be apprehending him while the rest of the Avengers waited in either the quinjet or a van a few blocks away for pick up, but I felt fairly confident things would be just fine.

A few hours later he was tracking the dark-haired kid from his apartment in Manhattan. Thunder rumbled and I muttered into the comms, something along the lines of, "If it starts raining, screw Fury, I'm not risking this suit." It was a tailored Armani. Sue me.

I could almost hear Nat roll her eyes. She and Clint were sitting at the coffee shop across from his building, ready to move at a moments notice.

Once the kid was far enough to not notice he was being followed, the pair stood and left the shop.

They went a few blocks before the kid stopped at some Memorial I'd never seen, Vietnam maybe, and sat down on the bench. He stayed there for awhile before moving again. Then he moved over to the wall and started talking to himself. He looked rather upset, like he had known the people on the wall, but that couldn't be right, this thing was ancient, right? The world seemed to shimmer for a moment, but quickly returned to normal.

Man, I really needed to get some sleep. I was running on,what, 2 hours of sleep in as many days.

I refocused on the kid, who seemed to have tensed slightly, while he was deep in his thoughts. I did a quick scan and noticed Clint and Natasha were moving in. I followed suit, silently thanking them for giving me the heads up.

I stopped outside the memorial activating my suit, then followed the pair of spies into the memorial. The moment we crossed the threshold the kid rolled his shoulders and stood slowly, as if not wishing to alarm us.

"Can't a guy just mourn in peace," he grumbled, probably not intending for them to hear it. I noticed the tattoo on his forearm, but couldn't tell much other than a smudge of black ink, but it raised more questions. "Who are you and what do you want? Though if you want to kill me you may need to take a number, that list seems to be ever expanding," the kid shrugged as if talking about the weather, which seemed to be worsening by the minute.

"You don't know who we are?" I asked, a little shocked at my status being unrecognized. In hind sight, Sokovia had been over a year ago, but damn, I was Iron Man that's not exactly news.

The kid just shrugged and it was quiet for a moment. "Well, I assume if you were here to kill me you would have tried already, so who are you?" He repeated.

"Right, that's not important," Clint said looking pointedly in my direction. "We have been instructed to bring you in for questioning. We can take you in conscious or unconscious, you choose."

The kid just shrugged again as if he hadn't just been threatened. "Okay, could you give me a minute."

I looked between the kid and his companions. "Uhh... Sure, why not. Just don't- uhm- do anything stupid okay kid. We don't want to hurt you," I did my best to sound threatening but failed.

The task of dragging the two assassins away from the target was not the easiest, but eventually they shrugged me off and stood outside the gate.
