ANNA
Anna pulled back gently on the reins, causing Spice to come to a stop when the play house was in view. It was an old structure that had been built when they were kids and because of this, it was slightly covered in moss. The vines growing around the edges and front porch had made their selves part of the outer walls and became almost a decretive fixture. The wood was a faded amber brown made from the very Red Woods here in Arendelle. The strangest part of what she was seeing and what shocked her the most was the crystal clear layer of ice that had surrounded the play house on all sides. It crept out at least 3 inches from the wall and left only a foot of room on the front porch. She dismounted Spice with a crunch as her boots landed firmly in the inch thick layer of ice covering the ground. Anna walked around the house, looking for any openings in the ice and found none. She only found stones haphazardly outlining a small garden where white roses once grew at the back of the play house.
' Thank goodness it's just snow in garden. If nothing else works I can always try digging a tunnel.... with a shovel I don't have.' She sighed and stepped closer to see if she might be able to dig the tunnel to her sister by hand; she had always been a good digger. She stopped and shivered as a snowflake tapped her nose causing her to wrap her cloak around her tightly. Relinquishing the notion to dig by hand, she walk back to the front of the house.
' Elsa....' She thought as she stared at the flower shaped window at the top of the front door. She gingerly stepped closer, blindly trying to find the steps that would take her to the front porch of the play house. As her feet landed, she sunk down to her shins in snow. She looked down frustrated at the white menace that was trying to keep her from her sister and huffed as she continued trudging through until she found the first step. Then the other and finally she stood face to face with the biggest obstacle in her way. She touched the ice with her gloved hand and trailed it along its facing, wondering how she was going to break something so huge. Anna slouched and let her forehead gently hit the ice as she slid to her knees. This is worse than any door... At least I could open it before. Now I'm completely shut out...
She turned and leaned her back against the ice, thinking of giving up hope. There was no knob to turn to let her inside. There was nothing she could break the ice with. She could build a fire and try melting it, but it would burn down the play house too. There was nothing she could do to give Elsa her hug and let her know that she wasn't alone. She tilted her head back and closed her eyes as tears began to spill from the corners. The tears landed in the snow, burning tiny holes to the wooden floor. Anna felt her heart begin to break into a thousand pieces as she wondered what had happened. She was confident riding all the way here that she would be able to walk inside and give Elsa a hug. That everything would be better after that. Never did she dream that the play house would be covered in thick ice or that her powers would cause it to snow around it.
" Elsa... I need you." She breathed out past the lump in her throat.
Spice whinnied, causing Anna to momentarily stop her crying.
"I'm sorry Spice. I know I made-" she stopped as she saw a snowy white version of spice standing next to the black horse. " another you..." She quickly swiped her tears away and walked towards the white version of steed. Once she was within arms reach, she stopped and tilted her head in confusion. The horse had no saddle on but had lumps in his sides. Before Anna could move to get a better look the white horse eased towards her and Spice whinnied nervously, stomping his hooves. "Sshush sush, it's okay Spice. He won't hurt me. I feel like I know him.." she said quizzically as she reached out her hand and touched his snout. As her glove made contact, wings fluttered out from the horses side causing booth Anna and Spice to jolt back.
" You're our pegasus," Anna gasped "mine and Elsa's."
ELSA
Elsa laid in the twin sized bed staring at the dusty picture of her and Anna when they were children that rest on the bed side table. She wished that she could go back and never let her fly or their parents leave. Somehow, she was the cause of everything. She rolled over onto her other side and stared at the frost covered wall. She saw Anna's freckles in the the frost lines and wished they would disappear even though the sight made it feel as if they were laying next to each other again. Slightly comforted by the thought, she reached out to touch the frost and just the nearness of her finger tips caused snow to race across the wall. She jerked her hand back and held it tight against her chest in horror. No, she shouldn't even think of them being near each other. Elsa feared that the snow racing along the wall would happen to Anna's heart if they were near.
