Shattered

Based in 2020, where Viktor is 31 and Yuri is 27.

That day..

That day.

That fateful day.

The day I lost everything.

The day everything shattered.

"Once met, never forgotten, Yuri Katsuki, 1993 - 2020, loving husband, father and son."

What his gravestone read, and it was true. It really was. The second you laid eyes on Yuri, he would be engraved into your mind, the way he creates music using his body in dance entices you and completely captures you. Katsuki Yuri is one to never be forgotten. You can't, even if you tried. Because he is Yuri. The Yuri Katsuki.

Oh how I miss his face.

His smile.

His movements.

His taste..

His body...

Just... why...?why him?

The one person who gave my life meaning.

Yuri Katsuki.

-A week earlier-

"Yuri! Let's go here!" I say, tugging at Yuri's arm as we carefully crossed the road. I pointed to a jewellery shop located on the other side of the street. Yuri happily obliged, smiling and catching up next to me, leaning on my shoulder as we walked.

We got to the other side safely, the sky beginning to darken, small droplets of rain dropping on to Yuri's face, sliding down his pink cheek. He stared up at the sign above the shop.

This reminded me of a certain day.

In Barcelona.

I smiled when the thought hit me.

"Do you want to go in here?" Yuri asked, a pink hue on his face. I nodded happily and pulled him in, being greeted by an abundance of  shiny and bright objects. There were necklaces, rings, bracelets.. everything. It was perfect.

I stopped in front of  a stunning pair of bracelets. Both matching, from each one hung a charm, in the shape of a split heart. One of them said "for", and the other said "ever".  I immediately realised that one the hearts are conjoined, it read "forever".

Secretly, I bought the pair while Yuri was looking at the rings. I kept them, in a small, black box in my left pocket.

As we left, the rain started to pick up. Realising this, I pulled my jacket over both of our heads and grabbed Yuri's hand, giggling as we picked up our pace.

We finally met some shelter. It was under a tree in the local park. The tree, being rather tall and having lots of leaves, served a perfect shelter. We sat on the grass as we began to speak about whatever came to mind.

Peaceful.

"The streets are so pretty... especially in the rain, huh?" Yuri spoke, holding his arms in discomfort. Noting that he was cold, I pulled my jacket off and wrapped it around his shoulders. His face turned red upon my action and I smiled. I leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips.

"Oh yeah! Yuri... I need to show you something." I grabbed the box from the pocket and presented it to Yuri, he blushed, taking it out of my hand and slowly opened it.
