This was it. We had finished one month of individual training and were ready to move onto a week of group training after which we could move onto our quest. Then we could escape from Brian, I mean, Ethan and find some answers. It sucked that we had to trust Allegiants we didn't know rather than trust our own foster father but there was nothing we could do about it.

"So," I asked Brian. "Are there any bad Allegiants who kill people and not Leviathans?"

"The Dark Allegiance has been called evil on numerous occasions but they don't kill humans. There are rogue Allegiants who are controlled by powerful Leviathans and then after they kill enough people they are killed by the Leviathans. They are usually pretty powerful but young and naïve."

"Really?" Kate asked. "Who?"

"Umm there was Cole Wilson, Jessica Frey, Ethan Mark, etc, etc. There aren't many because this was something pretty new. They're all dead now and good riddance too." Wow, this guy lied a lot.

"And were they friends?" Julian asked, calmly sipping his coffee.

"I'm not sure but it is said that they were controlled by the same Unique Leviathans. Why the sudden interest in Rogues?"

"Nothing. Just had a thought. When's our quest?" I asked, trying to deviate his attention from his suspicions.

"After our first group training activity, you're getting a prophecy and you'll be on your way in a week," he replied. Thank God. Meanwhile, we had to train and look for other Allegiant Homes nearby.

"Let's go then! First group activity. It's pretty exciting, trust me," Ethan said. Yeah, sure it was exciting for him. He was going to kill them the next day anyway.

We entered the familiar glass room. Panic suddenly twisted my gut. What if he would kill us now. My knuckles were white against my dark keychain. Julian's fingers were firm on my wrist, reassuring me. Kate was calm as usual. First the fire came. I drew it into a small flame that danced on my fingertips, illuminating our faces as the room grew dark. We couldn't see much but I could hear the sound of the sea. Julian's eyes brightened to become a deep ocean colour of turquoise. The sound faded and I could only hear splashes of water lapping against his feet. Then it was the dark shadow of a man or Leviathan that Kate got ready to face. With a determined look, she made a wall that held him away. The only disadvantage of being an Illusionist was that the illusions lasted for two to five minutes and they sapped your strength. Therefore, as her illusion faded, Julian and I killed the man slash Leviathan. We then drew our weapons. A swarm of Leviathans surrounded us. We stood back to back and brought out our weapons. We advanced, making our circle bigger. We fought three Leviathans at once and kept moving, switching and passing each other extra weapons. A Leviathan made a shallow cut across my knee. I fought with more vigour as I called out to Kate. She quickly made a small box of ointment which helped stem the blood flow. We finished the stimulation in 5 minutes and 43 seconds.

Brian looked at us with a proud smile, telling us we were great. He told us he had been to Iris Fen but they hadn't issued the prophecy yet. I hid a groan. It wasn't fair. We would be in his company for as long as they delayed. That night we once again complained about the Committee of Iris Fen which is like the government of Allegiants. I fell asleep to the complains and groans of my friends. Soon, I slipped into the familiar dark void of nightmares.

"Sadie?" I gasped.

"Hello, little sister it's been a while."

"I thought...I thought you were dead," I choked out.
