Falling For A Star

Chapter 03

"Hurry up, Yuna. We'll be late." Abby tugged her arm while they were running together for the bus stop.

They were going to watch Jump's rehearsal that a certain Haru and Sayu organized for them. According to Abby, the two is also a hardcore fan of Jump. Apparently, Abby didn't let this once in a lifetime opportunity slip from her fingertips.

Somehow, Yuna is kind of excited too. She was also curious to see Inoo outside the four walls of their classroom. She was curious to see him sing and dance. She was curious about a lot of things about him.

Lately, he's all she could ever think about. She already questioned herself uncountable times what's with Inoo Kei that he get her distracted all the goddamn time. In studying, in sleeping, in everything.

After a couple of minutes, they finally arrived at the dance studio. Three girls were waiting for them at the front door.

"Haru! Sayu! Pauie! Hi guys! Is it already starting?" Abby ran excitedly to them.

"No, you're just in time. Let's go." said Sayu.

Haru, Sayu and Pauie were students of a neighboring university of Meiji.

"By the way, this is Yuna." Abby introduced. "The lucky girl who get to be the seatmate of Inoo Kei."

"Kyaaaa! So lucky" the three said in unison.

"So how was it to be Inoo's seatmate? I wish Yamada would study in our university too." said Haru.

"I wish to be his seatmate if that ever happened." said Pauie with dreamy eyes.

"Hey, Yamada's my husband."

"No, he's mine."

And the two continued with their banter. Abby, Sayu and Yuna just laughed at them.

"Good thing I have no rival with my baby Chinen." said Abby.

When they entered the studio, they heard a music already playing. Yuna recognized the song right away because Abby made her listen to their songs, it was Mayonaka no Shadow Boy. The music stopped and they could hear teasing, laughing and clapping from the inside.

"Seems like the boys is going with their usual ruckus." said Pauie.

"How did you get access to this place, by the way? Isn't this forbidden? I heard from Abby, their manager is pretty strict." Yuna asked.

"Yes, very. But my cousin owns this building so I got free access. He promised I'll get to meet Yamada personally today."

Haru whispered to Yuna. "You see, Pauie has a lot of connections."

"Omg, I can see Chinen." Abby, who was looking through the glass window, squealed in delight. "He dances so good kyaaa."

"Wait, let me see my Yuya." Sayu tiptoed.

Yuna quietly stood and looked. Her eyes shifted from one member to another. Abby showed her tons of pictures months ago so she already knew every member's name already. The two tallest are Yuto and Yabu, the three shortest are Chinen, Daiki and Yamada, Ryutaro is the one that looks like a hamster, Hikaru is the one with crooked teeth, Yuya looks the coolest, and Keito looks like he has his own world.

Until she found what she's looking for. There stood the beautiful Inoo at the back. He wasn't at school for few days and it really made her happy to see him.

The music started again. The member went back to their respective positions.

Yuna noticed Inoo rarely get solo parts, he's also seldom on the spotlight. She got to admit he isn't the best dancer among the ten and he moves sloppily, but her eyes were only fixated on him.

It's refreshing for her to see this side of him. Having fun and being carefree. Somehow, she felt lucky and privileged.

After the rehearsals were done, they waited outside for the boys. Haru, Sayu, Pauie and Abby readied their uchiwas and letters.

"Where's yours?" asked Haru.

"I-I don't have any."

"She isn't a tobikko yet. But don't worry, I believe she will be one before this days ends." Abby gave a silly grin.

When the boys finally came out, all four ran to their ichibans to hand their letter. Yuna chose to stay where they were waiting. She just watched the girls go gaga over Jump while the boys accommodated them.

To her surprise, Inoo noticed her. Her hands automatically raised and waved at him. Inoo waved back and winked at him.

Yuna felt her heart pounding in her chest when Inoo started to walk towards her.

"Yuna, I didn't know you're with them. Did you, by any chance, watch us?"

"Uh, yeah. You dance well. You all did." she let out an uneasy laugh. "Anyway, are you attending class tomorrow?" she noticed the change of pitch in her voice with that question. She sounded a little too excited. "I mean, you're missing a lot of lesson." And I'm missing you, she wanted to add.

Talking to Inoo like this made her realized how he missed the pretty boy a lot. Before she even realized it, she's already falling for him.
