Many games later...

Teiko team was falling apart, Haizaki had too many fouls due to fighting and for punching a teammate the coach kicks him out, every pressure went to Aomine.

But as time passed Aomine talent starts to show He became too strong that he got bored He thinks the game became too easy that he doesn't need practice.  so Kise shows off and got himself injured and Murasakibara their center also was bored to show any motivation in any game

Midorima practice at night and figures out how to motivate the team but he couldn't

with Aomine arriving late, Murasakibara and Haizaki gone and Kise injured Midorima being targeted by the opposing team, Teiko tastes their first defeat.

the team were scolded and put into suspension

meanwhile

kuroko was on an outside court holding a basketball.

Alone and lonely playing by himself 

kuroko: I wish I could have a chance to play basketball if only I could benefit the team in any way

flashback

after the day he quit the team. not picking up the phone ogiwara came and visit kuroko

Ogiwara: (upset) kuroko what do you mean by this text?

Kuroko: I'm quitting the team ogiwara kun, in the end, I couldn't do anything

Ogiwara: you can't just quit, you love playing basketball

kuroko: it's okay I can still see you play it, and you're gonna be great at it, I met a friend named Aomine-kun I'm sure you'll meet in a game someday

Ogiwara wanted to ask more question but seeing how painful it is for kuroko he just said

Ogiwara: I was hoping to play with you but, I hope you could... still ( soft voice) cheer for me

Kuroko: (teary eye) yes... I will (smile)

Ogiwara was sad seeing kuroko like that so he lay his head on kuroko's shoulder

Kuroko exhales and sadly smile... look at the basket and tries to shoots the ball 

he misses, then...

Akashi: to bad that was almost a good shot (smirk)

kuroko: (annoyed) like you could do better (pouts)

Akashi shoots the ball and it went in CLEAN SHOT

kuroko: -------speechless--------

Kuroko picks up the ball 

Akashi: you're trying too hard to play like everyone else

kuroko: what do you mean?

Akashi: if I were you I'll use your presence in the game

kuroko: huh?

Akashi: your presence can also be used in basketball (smile)

kuroko: how?

Akashi: sorry, you have to find that out yourself ( smile)

butler: Seijuro sama

Akashi: I'll be going now

kuroko: uhmm, you're really good at basketball how come you don't join the team?

Akashi: (look at Kuroko) I have my reasons 

Kuroko: I bet you'll make it in the team for sure

Akashi: You'll make it too If you fill in what they are missing

Akashi points at Kuroko's heart

Kuroko: thank... you ( looks at Akashi)... uhm (don't know his name)

LATER THAT DAY 

inside Akashi car

butler: was he a friend of yours Seijuro-sama?

Akashi look outside the window of the car and smile "No" he replied

butler looks at Akashi and understand

butler: I see sir...

meanwhile...

Kuroko was thinking about what Akashi said when he was in the bookstore 

and suddenly saw a  book about magic and had an idea...

Kuroko read it and try applying it in his basketball

a few days later

Kuroko tries again in the basketball team...

He asked Aomine and to try something with him, at first, he couldn't connect to his teammates but later on, everyone was amazed at how his passes work...

 Akashi who was passing through the gym smile and said " well that exceeded my expectation"

Kuroko finally made it back  but he has to stay in 2nd string as he polishes his technique

Sometimes Akashi finds himself passing through the gym often and one-time Kuroko sees him

Akashi look at him and smile and went away Kuroko was about to follow him but Aomine came and drag Kuroko to play, Aomine felt a lot more into the game and Kise returned from his Injury and became instantly on board with Kuroko...Midorima and Kuroko don't get along but respect each other while Murasakibara and Kurokohada silent understanding, Murasakibara actually likes him cause he spoils him with snacks.

Haizaki is different he bullies Kuroko to the point that Kuroko became used to it and just stands up to him. 

meanwhile 

As Akashi look at the forms submit by the basketball club

He smiles and remembers Kuroko " the game would be interesting now that a player like him is on the team " then he remembers when he quit playing basketball "I should not be regretting it... It was for the best"
