Today was my eighteenth birthday, I was so excited I was gonna have a big party and everything. "Paris! Come here!" My dad yelled from the basement. "Coming!" I replied. I walked down the stairs happily, going all the way to the basement. I reached the last step and dropped to my knees, "W-what happened?" I asked tears streaming down my face. My sister was dead on the ground covered in blood. "I don't know..... I came down to get ingredients for breakfast and she was here.....dead." My dad answered. He walked over to me and hugged me tightly, "I don't know what to do, I don't want to lose you too." He said petting my head. "First my mother and now my sister, am I next?" I thought to myself. We walked up the stairs and called the police. "I'm sorry Hun, you don't have to go to school if you don't want to." My dad told me hanging up. "No I think I should, I want to see my friends." I replied. "Okay but if you want to come home just call." He said getting out a frying pan. "Of course." I said, walking back to my room. I sighed, looking through my closet for something to wear. I put on a little cute black dress and went to the bathroom. I never put much makeup on so it was my hair that took long. Usually my dad or sister would yell at me for taking long but..... I guess he's too upset. I left the bathroom and walked to the dining room which had two plates set up with pancakes and maple syrup. I sat down and ate what I could with the disgusting image of my older sister in mind. I stopped eating, cleaned up, gave my dad a hug, and walked to school.
I reached school late and walked in alone. "How am I supposed to do this?" I mumbled in the empty hallway. I put my things in my locker and slowly walked into class. "Paris!" My best friend Lia yelled running over to me. "What's up, why do you look so sad?" She asked. I tried holding in the tears that were about to fall in front of my whole class. "Girls! Sit down." Our teacher yelled. But I couldn't hold the tears in and they came pouring out. I buried my face in Lia's shoulder not wanting my class to know. She hugged me and walked out of class bringing me to the girls toilets. "Paris? Is everything alright?" She asked again. "No...." I said between sniffles. "I'm here if you need me." Lia said trying to comfort me. "I know." I said looking up at the mirror. My eyes were puffy and my face was red and blotchy. "My si-ster die-d." I mumbled. "No..." she said, holding me tighter. "You shouldn't be here let's go get some ice cream." Lia whispered. "O-Kay." I sniffled.
We arrived at the ice cream shop and walked in, it was empty so we got our ice cream pretty quick. "Feeling better?" Lia asked. "Yeah, thanks to you." I smiled. "That's my girl!" She said smiling big. I laughed she always knew how to cheer me up.
Soon the day ended and Lia brought me home. "I'll see you tomorrow Paris." Lia said waving. "Yeah!" I yelled so she could hear me. "Paris come here." My dad yelled from my room. "Um ok." I hesitated. I walked to my room and my dad was sitting in the bed looking at me. "What?" I asked staring blankly at him. "I'm sending you to a collage cat away from here." My dad announced. "Huh?!" I looked at him shocked, "You, you can't do that! I have friends here and colleges already picked out!" "Calm down, it's for your own safety I'm not letting you die." He said quietly. "But--" "No buts! You're leaving tomorrow morning." My dad said cutting me off. "Goodnight Hun." He kissed my head and left. I stood there in a daze. "Ugh!" I sighed, getting ready for bed. I got in bed and thought for a while before drifting off into a deep sleep.
