Just your normal day at South Rain High.
Nobody listening to teachers, every other word you hear when you walk down the hall is some form of "fuck", whether it be "fucker", "fucking", or just plain old "fuck". Utter chaos. That's exactly what South Rain High is. But... it also has a darker side. A dark sense of humor. And that's what i like about it.
Alex never gets it, that's what seperates South side from North side.
It's like this from start to finish every day.
As the bell rings to signal the end of the day, I push through the classroom door, the first out. Get to my locker and get my shit before getting to my bus. I take the very last back seat, fit for one person only. It's my signature spot. I literally had somebody carve my name into the seat.
"Yo, Jakes, you going home or to the drive-in?" Calls out Dexter, my bus driver. Dexter is super young. Like fresh outta high school young.
"Drive-in." I yell out. He flashes me a thumbs up, before talking to everyone else.
I have no idea if the rumors are true or not, but it's rumored that Dexter graduated from Rain High. Now, I'd love to believe that the rumors are false, but the clothes he wears... man they are expensive.
Anyway who cares, he treats us all the same, and he is nice enough. He isn't stuck up or snobby, so i don't care if he's rich or not.
Besides, he came to South Rain to drive bus. That has to meam something. School buses are like extinct on the North side because almost everyone drives themselves to school.
Anyway, so about 10-15 minutes later, when everyone is on the bus, we take off. The drive-in is one of the last stops, because it's so far away from the school. But if i were to go home, it's the same distance, but I'd be getting off with 4 or 5 other kids, cause my apartment building is home to them as well, and it's only like 2 blocks from the drive-in.
Finally we get to the drive-in, and I get up. On my way out, I give Dexter knuckles. He only does that with the kids he likes. Aka the weird, dark humored kids.
On my way up to the film room, I stop at concessions.
"What'll it be tonight, Miss Christina?" Asks Luke.
Luke Remes graduated from South Rain last school year. He's local bad boy. And for some weird reason he always calls me "Miss Christina". But he gets me, and I tend to find him comical, so I tolerate it.
"Uhm... hmmm. What should I have for my dinner tonight? How about... 2 packs of Skittles, a cherry Dr. Pepper, and 3 slices of pepperoni pizza, Lucas." I say.
Whenever I work, I always have 3 pieces of pizza and like a bajillion cherry Dr. Peppers. The "dessert" part varies though.
"Don't call me Lucas. But you got it, boss lady." Luke replies.
"Luke, I am not your boss. I wish I was so I could demote you to picking up trash, but I'm not." I reply snarkily.
Luke flashes me one of his pearly, white, signature smiles. "Oh you know you wouldn't do that, Christy. You love me too much."
I fake gag. "Nahhhh. I don't love you, Lucas."
Luke grabs at his chest dramatically. "Oh, my heart! That hurt so badly, Christina!" He says with a serious look.
We both burst out laughing. Then Luke hands me my food. "Oh Luke, you are too funny" I say with a laugh.
He flashes me another one of his signature smiles. "Come back when you need a refill, sweetcheeks."
"Who are you? Zack Martin?" I say with a laugh.
Luke gives me a quizzical look. "Who?"
I give him a dumbfounded look. "Zack Martin! Dylan Sprouse plays him on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody!" I say loudly.
"Never seen it."
"Luke, you have broken my heart. That's my childhood show you haven't seen. Come home with me."
Luke gives me a seductive look. "Hey, I thought you'd never ask!"
"To watch Zack and Cody, dumbie!" I yell.
He gives me a frown. "Rude."
"Shut up, I'll be back in like 10 minutes for a refill." I say as I walk off, drinking my cherry Dr. Pepper.
I set myself up in the film room, before going back to get a refill of cherry Dr. Pepper.
"Wow, back so soon, sweetcheeks. Did you miss me?" Luke asks with a smirk.
I laugh. "You wish! I just need a refill." I say.
"Girl, you really know how to break a guy's heart." Luke says dramatically.
"But yet you still love me." I say cheekily.
Luke grins. "That I do! See you after the movie is over?"
"Yup. I'll be back to help you put shit away and take all the left overs. Make sure there's pizza and nachos left my dude." I say sincerely.
"Of course, your highness." Luke says.
I laugh, "you're too funny." Before going back to the film room.
Soon enough, cars start pulling in and I start the movie.
~2 hours later~
People leave and I clean up my mess. I lock the door and go down to the concession stand. "Oh Lu- Oh!" I say before backing away from the stand. Luke and Alexis Mason are full on making out and dry humping. I run over to where I see Alex leaning against his truck, waiting for me.
"Hey, I thought you were having Luke over?" Alex asks.
"No just take me home... NOW!" I say rushed as I jump in the truck.
Alex shrugs and gets in. He starts the truck and brings me the two blocks down to my apartment. I hop out and run up to my apartment before struggling to unlock the door. Finally, 5 minutes later, I get inside and lock my door again.
I turn on my tv and put Another Cinderella Story in to watch.
I wake up to the sound of pounding on my door. I see the credits from Another Cinderella Story rolling on the tv screen.
"Christina! Let me in!" I hear a muffled male voice yell.
I tip toe over to the door and look through the peek hole.
Oh. My. God. It's him. I Haven't seen him in forever.
