chapter 1

"Jasmine darling, come along. Wake up its 11 am, we have the ball tonight. We're going with Mr and Mrs Bass and their son, you and him should get along well he's only 22." My mother told me as she fussed around my bedroom, opening my blinds and ripping my fluffy cover off of my body waking me from a great nights sleep. I lifted my eye mask off my head and squinted my eyes to focus on the happy expression spread across her face.
"Mother if this is another ploy to get me a boyfriend and he turns out to be a weirdo like the last one, I swear this will be the last ball I go to."
I told her swinging my legs out of bed into my slippers and pulling on my silk robe and following her out of my bedroom. I followed her, the heel off of her Gucci shoes clicking, down the hall way and down the stairs until we got to the kitchen where a fruit platter was laid out for me.
"I promise he isn't weird. Well at least I don't think he is. But never mind that at this moment, eat your breakfast and go for your morning run. Then make sure you're back here for 1 o'clock sharp so that you can shower ready for the dress fitting for the ball tonight, and then hair and make up for it also. Comprende?"
She explained, turning to me waiting on a answer. I nodded at her taking a bite out of a strawberry and scrolling through my phone, as I did so a text from my two best friends ,Vanessa and Kieran, came through in our group chat.

Nessa💕; hey guys I'm not coming to the ball tonight

Lonely boy (Kieran)👫 ; me neither Nessa, sorry Jas

Queen J👸; guysssssss This means I'm suck with Mr and Mrs Bass' son all
on my own!

Nessa💕; Sorry J, I would but Granny V is sick I have to go to Texas to go
and visit her. but hey look on the bright side baby Bass might be
a hottie 😉😏

Queen J👸; you better hope he is Nessa otherwise you and lonely boy are in         
                        For it on Monday morning. Speaking of lonely boy, Keiran, why
                        aren't you coming?

Lonely boy (Keiran)👫; Family night with dad and Emily

Queen J👸; ok understandable give my love to Rufus and Emily, Ness give
                        my love too granny V. I'm off for my morning run and then to
                        this ball, baby Bass better be a hottie.
