Kelly~
"Kelly can you come here?" I hear John yell from either the kitchen or living room or dining room.
I sigh and pick Whiskey off of my lap, get out from underneath my blanket, and place a book mark back in The Fault in our Stars. I'm now on page 105. I only read for five minutes. I walk down to the living room and John isn't there. THen the kitchen and he isn't there. I finally fin him in the kitchen.
"We are having people over for dinner, those people being the neighbors. Remember Drew picked you up like two days ago?" He says and I remember. That was the last time I saw them in person, but whenever I'm working on my garden I see one of them, I think Wesley since I can't really see them, watching me from their window. I don't know whether I find it cute or not, " Kelly, yoo-hoo!" John waves his hand in front of my face, " finally, I have been saying your name for like three minutes! Anyways, go get ready they should be here in about half an hour," He tells me and I nod then head to my room. Half an hour? that would be 3:30. That's not really a dinner but what evs.
I go to my bathroom first to do my hair. I braid a front piece on both sides of my head and pull it back so that it is connected with a clip on the back of my head. I put on a little mascara and then I go back into my room. I don't know what to wear, like dress up or casual? Maybe a little of both, yeah that's good.
I pick out some peach lace shorts and a white v-neck t-shirt with furry socks. Furry Socks Gang or Die. I love furry socks if you couldn't tell. I think they are so fluffy and comfortable that it feels like you're walking on a cloud. Also they are super fun to slide around with, way better than normal socks. I spend the remainder of my time sliding around my room to music. This is the life.
"Kelly! They are here!" I hear John yell. What? It's been that long already? Holy cannoli! I guess what they say is true, time flies when your sliding. Okay.. maybe that isn't what they say and that's just what I say but that doesn't matter.
I slide down the hallway and into the living room area. I can't stop myself from sliding and I fall down onto my butt. I pray to god that they weren't in there. I look up, praise the lord, only Melanie is there. Oo I didn't know she was coming, I should be surprised though. She is always here, I don't know why she doesn't just move in ready! Melanie giggles and helps me up.
"K! are you okay? Oh my god that was so funny!" We laugh, she is the only one that calls me K because saying Kelly 'takes too much time' . Melanie is a little taller than me and has freckles all over her and she has bright blue eyes and orangey-red hair. She is really pretty and I understand why John loves her so much.
"Kelly and Melanie! Where are you girl?" We hear John shout.
Melanie and I walk to the kitchen giggling. In the kitchen there is Drew, Wesley, Keaton and two other people. I give a slight wave and smile to them and Melanie does the same and then goes and stands next to John and he wraps his arm around her waist.
"Kelly this is Laraine and Brent. You already know Keaton, Wes and Drew. Laraine and Brent this is Kelly, my sister." He introduces us and I shake their hands, "So I was thinking we could do a little barbeque, does that sound okay to everyone?" We all nod.
"John would you like any help? I love to grill," Brent says.
"I would like that. I don't really know how to grill so maybe you could teach me." They laugh and head to our backyard. We all just stand around in silence.
"We could either sit outside or sit in the living room, it doesn't matter where," Melanie thankfully breaks the silence.
"Let's sit outside, it hasn't been this nice for a few days," Laraine says and we all go outside like a herd.
