I woke up. There was nothing but cold grass and tall fir trees around me. I slowly sat up- Wondering what happened; I had fallen asleep in my tent! Where could I possibly be now? It was pitch black in the forest. I couldn't see but 15 feet in front of me as the entire area was covered in a thick fog. I began to crawl on the ground, looking for any possible sign of where I could be... But there was none. I saw a small gleam of light out of the corner of my eye. There were several tall shadows emerging from the fog. I quickly tried to hide in the nearest bush, but they were getting closer. I held my breath. I watched in silence as the figures got closer. I was petrified in fear, sweat dripping from my hands and forehead. They continued to creep towards my hiding spot, but no matter how close they got I could not make out a face or expression. They now towered directly over my bush. They stopped and began mumbling something inaudible; their voices were choppy and sounded as though they were coming through a broken radio. I put my head between my legs and closed my eyes, praying for the creatures to leave. I felt a hand on my back. Their voices got louder and louder, almost chanting. My mind began to fade to black- But not before I heard the whispers: "You shouldn't be here."
I hope you liked the preface, I plan on updating it with the first chapter very soon!! I am just starting out so it may be weird at some parts xD Any feedback is much appreciated! Thanks for reading :)
