Longing

(Just a short poem I wrote for my english class and wanted to share).

Longing

If longing were a sound,

It would be a desperate wail of suppressed hope.

And if longing were a color,

It would be darker than the deepest point of the sea.

And if longing were a thought,

The turbulence and broadness of it would be petrifying.

But if longing were a thought,

It would be specific and placid.

But if longing were a color,

It would be a ruthless, bottomless red.

But if longing were a sound,

There would be silence.
