Kathleen
Despite my thoughts and hopes through out my first 2 and a half blocks, Elizabeth still seemed dazed at lunch later that day. She didn't speak with our friends and only picked at her sandwich, which I know for fact was an Italian BMT, her favorite."You do realize that you're supposed to eat that, right?" I jokingly asked my twin. She looked up, still seemingly dazed before shooting a laser like glare at me.
"Yes. I realized what you do with a sandwich, Kath. We've only been eating them since pre-k." she replied still giving me a look that could blister a rock.
"Seriously are you okay? You've been acting weird all day." I was beginning to worry that something was actually wrong.
"Stop worrying. Not eating isn't always a symptom, you know," she informed me, making fun of the fact that ever since I started my bio-med and health classes that I've been worried about every cough of sniffle.
"I know, but you still need to eat like the rest of humanity." I told her, rolling my eyes, hoping to look convincing but knowing I probably wasn't. As if to prove that everything was fine, Elizabeth picked up her sandwich giving me a looked before she began to eat. Sighing in defeat, I got up to throw my trash away. On my way back, I smacked into a wall. A warm, hard, breathing one. I looked up and saw that I had actually run right into a guy, a really cute one, too.
And the award for most embarrassing moment of the year goes to Kathleen.
"Hey, are you alright?" he asked sounding genuinely concerned that I wouldn't be. I realized I was staring at him like an idiot and nodded. "I'm Jax," he smiled and I nearly melted as I struggled to control my racing heart.
"Kathleen," I said as soon as I was confident that I would be able to form actual words. I blushed at my own teen girlishness and turned to walk away. Who was he and wow he was HOT.
"Wait, Kathleen." I felt a muscular hand grab my arm and sparks came alive under my skin. I looked up, as he towered over my 5 foot three stature, into eyes so green they were practically emeralds. "Can I have your number? I'm new here and I don't have any friends yet." He seemed lonely and I felt bad, so I happily complied. I swear I could hear Elizabeth mentally laughing at me.
"Do you want to come to my table and meet my friends?" I asked.
"Sure" He smiled so I lead him to our table and sat down giving him room to sit beside me.
"Guys I'd like you to meet Jax. He's new here and I thought he could use some friends. Well, that is until he figures out what big nerds we are." I laughed as did Jax and everyone else. "Jax meet my twin Elizabeth and our friends Aislynn, Levi, Audrie, Kellin, Kendal, and Maura." I introduced my friends pointing out what Dad kindly referred to as the "nerd army"
"Nice to meet you guys." He smiled and turned to the group. "Does anyone have Mrs. Sulvetsky? I have her next and I'm hopelessly lost here." He chuckled.
"I have her next too!" I told him as Elizabeth winked at me and wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, which made me, in turn, kick her under the table. "You'll like that class, we do a lot of group work and it's not all that hard."
"Awesome, 'cause I just had geometry with Mr. Sithson and it was 90 minutes of pure torture." He groaned, remembering the awful class.
"Everyone says that which means I'm dreading next semester. But don't worry, English is fun." I told him as the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
Elizabeth
K met, Tyler Redsen. His playful blue eyes twinkled with mischief--never a good sign.
"I don't feel like fighting today, Redsen," I mumbled.
"Are you finally realizing your love for me?" he asked with fake enthusiasm.
"No, I'm just not feeling good today."
"I can take you to the nurse's office," he offered with his witty tone. He leaned down and whispered in a low, deep voice: "Or the Janitor's Closet, either way is fine with me."
I processed the words for a few seconds before their meaning seeps in. A fire ignites in my face as I feel a flaming blush rise. I sent my elbow back, hoping to at least make it to where he would need an organ donor for a new stomach, only to be met with something hard.
"It'll take more than that to penetrate this six pack, princess," he murmured into my ear.
"Don't call me princess,' I mumbled. And now you know he has a six pack. Smooth, Lizzie.
He turned silent for a while and when I turned to see if he was still there, I found him cheekily grinning. "What's got you on cloud nine?" I asked, annoyed that he was still there. Though I guess we're going to the same class.
"That was the first time I've made you blush. I can now make every girl blush, even you. I'll be a legend for this," he said almost dreamily.
"Wait, what? Has it been some... contest to make me blush or something?" I query.
"Actually, it has. Remember the time that junior called you hot and you told him to shut up? That was one of the many attempts to make you blush." I thought Kathleen was trying set me up with that guy... oops.
"Any other contests I should know about?" I ask more as a joke to myself than anything else.
"Actually..." he trailed off awkwardly.
"Actually? Actually what?" I said as we stop at the Algebra door.
"I'll... I'll tell you after class," he said quickly before he darted into the classroom. I rolled my eyes before strolling in and taking my seat right next to the door at the back right of the classroom. Oh, great, I thought as I saw Ms.Sithson handing out tests. This oughta be fun.

I scribbled my name on my test before topping the stack of papers. Right as I finished packing my bag, the bell rang, followed by the groans of people who didn't finish. I stood between the door and my desk as other students strode out the door. As Tyler passed me, I wordlessly followed him. After a few seconds of silence in the hallway, I finally spoke up."Spill."
He grimaced and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, about that..." I gave him a don't-you-dare-back-out-now look before he continued. "They had one going, but I stopped it..." He leaned down and said quietly, "Peter Camal started a contest to see who could get you and a few other girls to sleep with them."
I felt my cheeks burn and an urge to punch something rose. I clenched my jaw and fisted my hands. "He. Will. Die." I muttered as I raced off to my next class, leaving Tyler looking after my with a slightly frightened look in his eyes.
