"…Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait...
The Earth began to cool,
The autotrophs began to drool,
Neanderthals developed tools,
We built a wall (we built the pyramids),
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries,
That all started with the big bang!", sara laughed every time she heard that theme song. ofcourse big bang theory was one of the many things she watched while eating take out chinese food. ironic ha? tying her hair up in a bun and being a pro with chopsticks she began her night. yes night. just as she took her first steaming bite she heard a knock on the door. it was her mom as usual. "beta, they left your post at our doorstep again, i thought it might be important so i got it over, also we have good wholesome food why do you insist on eating all this", she scowled. "mom, thanks, k and bye." she shut the door inspecting the post. as she realized what it what she was almost trying to contain her joy. finally its was there. carefully opening the paper she smiled at her newly finished and edited script. title: "she doesn't know". sara's lips parted as she couldn't help but read out the dialogues aloud. what fun! she quickly bent down to pick up her prized possession and dialed a number.

"R, this is sandeep. you've heard of mukesh mutreja, the theatre producer? his son.", exclaimed piya looking around at her party.

Sandeep smiled at reeve as two depressions formed on the side of his cheeks. "pleased to meet you sandeep", reva said.

"so i've heard that you like drama..no, my bad, acting", he blushed. "oh i love both", grinned reva. this was going well. "im sorry but i have to ask, my friend and i, are producing and directing a play. you might just fit the bill, are you interested?" he enquired. "oh don't you know how to get girls interested,"smiled reeve taking him by the arm. "tell me more", reva pouted. "oh well, we've gotten the script ready and edited, a really good script since we are starting out fresh we want fresh faces too. i don't want to use my dads contacts and all, i want to do it myself. so thats about it, we haven't auditioned anyone yet so.." and suddenly reeve fell, holding her ankle and writhing in pain, sandeep bent down with a shocked expression, reeve then held her head and in a moment she collapsed. she opened her eyes and found herself surrounded by a dozen people, sandeep staring right at her. she got up as piya handed her water and ice, while sandeep crossed his fingers and said, "please don't be anorexic, please don't." reva quickly laughed and said, "GOTCHA! omygod you should see the look on your faces! AHA." she continued, "pi babe im fine and sandeep i was doing a bit, like to show you im capable of the part, don't worry im not anorexic but i told you i loved drama", they all heaved and sandeep said, "hey i never questioned your capabilities". then reeve got up with her strength, exchanged numbers with sandeep and walked out with immense swag. as soon as she reached her car she fished her purse for a pill that would keep her going and popped it. and yes, she was anorexic.

reva woke next morning breathing heavily and sweating, mascara running down her eyes. She’d had it again, that dream, rather that nightmare which never failed to haunt her. She asid perplexed in her bed trying to calm down. Everytime she shut her eyes she’d hear that scream over and over and ov—“I Like it like that yeah windows down chillin’ with the radio on..” played loudly on her phone and she picked it up only to hear sandeep ask her If she was really okay and to inform her that the official audition started tomorrow at 2. Great now she had all day to prep up for the audition, she could not get away with just working her charm, she needed to rehearse a bit this time. She made herself a huge glass of coffee and sat down to read dialogues from her favourite play, phantom of the opera. She wondered if this could be her big break, she pictured herself signing a huge film contract over some champagne. That’s what she wanted to be, a filmstar. She liked theatre a lot when she was younger but now that opinion had changed, SHE had changed. She cringed remembering the old days.

She went running up and down colaba causeway, clicking everything that amused her, sometimes it was stalls with a lot of vintage watches and clocks or sometimes it was the diverse culture. To her, it was all just like a river and its tributaries. The small lanes being the tributaries and the people being the silt and sediments in it and all of them converging together on marine drive, where everything mixed together to form one big happy promenade. With some students coming to socialize and others for their power jogs it was pretty much pleasant. This was saras way of relaxing, literally. After looked at the time and murmured under her breath as she dashed off to her house right opposite marine drive to get ready to meet vaishali. She wore an elegant blue dress and marinated herself in perfume, stepping into her single pair of high heels. She was more than excited to go to jazz by the bay for karaoke night right after eating pizza at pizza by the bay. In a way she was celebrating the fact that tomorrow was a fresh start to her first real project. Being 20 and starting out was certainly a big deal. She knew that in 4 months she’d be headed off to London to do a literary course so I wanted to enjoy all that she could. Vaishali was sitting on her table glued to her phone and only looked up when sara sat down with a thud. After getting into an animated conversation with her best friend over some delicious pizza they entered the pub. They saw a foreigner singing “what a wonderful world” and rolled their eyes. Just as she made her way to a table she got almost banged into a man walking out hurriedly, she turned around to see what she never wanted to see as the man made his way out. Vaishali questioned her pale face and asked her what she thought of singing, expecting her to choose and a light fun song. Sara took a shot of tequila and went on stage only to choose,”ROLLING IN THE DEEP”. A deep soulful song, that was odd. Sara closed her eyes and started off in the most intense voice. After having a round of constant applauds she sat back with vaishali just staring at her, shaking her head and saying, “ I didn’t know you liked such songs.” Sara replied, “neither did I vai.”
