Doh Gayoung's POV
There's this friend of mine. Im Jaebum aged 17 then and me, Doh Gayoung, aged 17 then. They called us 'The Combi'.
The title "boy-human-friend" seemed to be made just for us. When we hung out together, what I heard most was,
Weren't you two going out?
No! We're not!
Then, they'd put on a suprised look, and say the second thing I heard most,
No way! There must be something going on at least?
Tell, me you do have feelings for him, right?
Nope, nope, nope, nope! I was always sick of those situations. Everyone was always jumping into conclusions and taking guesses and driving me crazy, but he was my best friend anyway. And although I didn't tell him, I was shy and wanted him to be around after we graduated.
Flashback
You have been rejected
Was the last words I heard from the registrar of this school where me and Jaebum enrolled to. I sat down on the couch and couldn't help but cry.
"Hey, hey.. you crying?! Something must be wrong! Even I made it.. how could you fail!"
I continued to cry harder. "Hold on a sec! I'll check on the laptop!" Jaebum read the words on the screen and brought his laptop on the couch so I could see.
"Congratulations on your acceptance! Welcome to Some University of Multimedia!" It read.
I still didn't beleive it easily. "Hey your application number is 621320 right?" He asked holding my papers for enrolment.
"Wasn't it 621318?" He checked his laptop again and compared it with my paper.
Suddenly, he pinched my cheeks. "See, you dohnut?! I knew you'd pass! I told you so, didn't I?!"
I could see how happy he was just by the tone in his voice. "Now we have to go to university together. I'm so sick of your face!" I smiled.
"Huh?" He said as he let go of my two red cheeks. "Well, yeah. I guess." He scratched his nape.
"What's wrong? You don't wanna go to school together?"
"Well, I guess we could go to school together... Two years later" He replied not even making eye comtact with me.
"Are you.. going away or something? Why two years? As if your going to military psh."
"Yeah, I am!" He smiled at me with an annoying look. God damn it Jaebum.
End of flashback
After Jaebum took the final prep test, he got depressed because of his marks, and signed up for military service right away. How stupid. Then, he was Im Jaebum, aged 20 who fluked the entrance exam.
And now, the start of classes has begun. I sat in a corner in the Some University Training center. In a room, where there's this party to welcome the freshmen. Now I was Doh Gayoung, aged 20 who just lost a lunch mate.
Our story begins, when he comes back from the army.
